Daegu wedding hall with a baby food microwave: Stadium Convention

Today I visited Stadium Convention Wedding, located inside the Daegu Sports Memorial Hall, for the first time. It's not a place many people know about yet, so I figured a lot of you might be curious like I was. Let me walk you through everything—the outdoor terrace hall and indoor wedding hall that even appeared on I Live Alone, and the buffet at Stadium Convention Wedding that really impressed me.

How to get to Stadium Convention Wedding, and is there a shuttle bus?

When you're heading to Stadium Convention Wedding, just search '대구 스포츠기념관 (Daegu Sports Memorial Hall)' in your navigation app. You can take the bus, but if you're coming by subway, there's a shuttle bus running every 20 minutes from in front of the fire station at Exit 3 of Sinmae Station, so keep that in mind.

We put the sports memorial hall into our navigation and it guided us around the back, and when we went in, it turned out to be the basement level.

Going up to the 1st floor, there was a spot for exchanging wedding favors, and next to it were the Stadium Convention reservation office and an ATM machine. Probably because the outdoor terrace hall appeared on I Live Alone, I saw a lot of people who seemed to be there just to check the place out.

Inside the 2nd floor indoor wedding hall and its waiting area

Stadium Convention Wedding's indoor wedding hall is on the 2nd floor. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful, clean in a way that really suited my taste. The hall itself is fairly large too, so the ceremony felt grander, and guests could watch comfortably, which I liked. Since the entire 2nd floor is used exclusively for this hall, the waiting area outside the hall is spacious, which was another plus.

Next up is the outdoor terrace hall, which was the most memorable part of Stadium Convention Wedding for me. The outdoor terrace hall is on the 3rd floor. Honestly I didn't expect much at first, but it was bigger than I imagined, and the wide-open clear sky made the venue look even more beautiful—it was genuinely impressive.

This is the bridal waiting room at the back of the outdoor terrace hall. I couldn't go inside, so I only looked from outside, but it was clean and well-lit, which I think would make the bride look even more radiant. Compared to other wedding halls, it felt more open, making it easier for visiting guests to greet the bride.

Another advantage is that the outdoor terrace hall connects directly to the buffet, so you can go straight to eating.

What the standalone 3rd floor banquet buffet serves

The banquet hall (buffet) is on the 3rd floor. Since it's a standalone hall, we could eat at a relaxed pace, and with such a wide variety of dishes I ended up frantically trying everything. Let me introduce what kinds of menus were there.

Soups, porridge and salads

First, there was a good variety of soups, porridges, and salads perfect for early in the meal, so it was easy to eat according to your taste.

The sushi corner: kimchi inari sushi was the standout

Next was the sushi corner. There was a wide variety, from soy-marinated raw shrimp sushi, which Cherry Father loves, to beef sushi, and there were many types of inari sushi (fried tofu pocket sushi) too, so I could try a bit of everything. Personally, the inari sushi topped with kimchi stuck with me—it was tangy and spicy.

Seafood: sashimi, crab legs, shrimp and oysters

After that, there was fresh seafood—sashimi, crab legs, shrimp, oysters, and more. Buffet seafood can sometimes have a strong fishy taste, but in my opinion it wasn't fishy at all here, and I ate it happily.

On one side there was a whole spread of various Korean dishes, and janchi guksu (banquet noodle soup) and naengmyeon (cold noodles) were made to order, which was fun.

On one side, there was a gathering of meat dishes—tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties), steak, BBQ, and lamb. I tried every single one, and overall the taste was great, so if you visit, I hope you try them all.

Made-to-order udon, shabu-shabu, jjajangmyeon and Korean snack foods

There were also made-to-order dishes like udon, shabu-shabu, and jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), plus a full spread of pasta, pizza, chicken, and sweet and sour pork—so much that with a stomach that couldn't try everything, I felt a bit disappointed not to have tasted it all.

Drinks and desserts at the buffet

On one side there was a range of drinks, sikhye (sweet rice punch), sujeonggwa (cinnamon punch), and juices, plus yogurt and cereal.

Stadium Convention Wedding had a better variety of desserts than most places, which I liked. There was even caprese, which you don't usually see at buffets, along with fruits like figs, kiwi, shine muscat grapes, and pineapple—all so good that I couldn't resist even though I was already full.

There was also a wide variety of cakes, tteok (rice cakes), and bread for dessert, and trying a bit of everything wore me out.

These are the dishes I ate at the Daegu convention wedding buffet. Beyond what's pictured, the food and desserts were overall so good that I overate—from quality steak to fresh sashimi, I ate until I was completely stuffed.

Coming with a child? Baby chairs and a microwave just for baby food

Another thing that impressed me about the Daegu convention wedding was that baby chairs and a microwave dedicated to baby food were provided. When visiting with kids, I usually have to ask apologetically if I can use a microwave and feel a bit self-conscious about it, so having a separate microwave just for baby food meant I could take care of my child's meal without worry—it was really touching.

Final verdict on Stadium Convention Wedding

So that was my tour of the halls and banquet hall (buffet) at Stadium Convention Wedding in Daegu, which I visited for the first time. Both the indoor and outdoor convention halls had such a bright atmosphere that it somehow lifted my mood too, and thanks to that brightness, the bride would look even more radiant and photograph beautifully—personally, I really liked this place.

The buffet also had such a good variety and quality of food that it could properly treat guests who came to celebrate the wedding to a real meal, which I think is another strength of this Daegu convention wedding.
