Window-seat izakaya in Guro for skewer platters: Robatayaki Sodam
In short
Robatayaki Sodam Guro Digital Complex Branch is an izakaya five minutes on foot from Guro Digital Complex Station Exit 1. Two friends booked a window seat on a Saturday night, shared the 11-kind skewer platter and Nagasaki champon, and found garlic skewers the surprise favorite. Staff even brought a blanket when the air conditioning felt too cold, making it a solid pick for group dinners or dates.

Got together with a close unnie for a good meal and a good time >,<
I went to Robatayaki Sodam Guro Digital Complex Branch, an izakaya bar in Guro.
How far is it from Guro Digital Complex Station?
Robatayaki Sodam Guro Digital Complex Branch is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Guro Digital Complex Station. Pretty close.

Robatayaki Sodam is on the 2nd floor of the building — you have to go up one flight. We went on a Saturday evening with a reservation, so there was no waiting.

Walk in through the entrance like this, and the staff kindly guide you to your seat.

These are Robatayaki Sodam's hours~

What we ordered for two
As you'd expect from a well-known Guro bar, the menu was huge and the drink list just as varied, so it was fun just browsing. Between the two of us, we ordered
- Signature skewer platter, 11 kinds (13 pieces) — ₩24,000
- Nagasaki champon — ₩21,000
.

Window seat? Counter seat? The seating vibe
Once you walk in through the entrance, there's a large main space. There's a counter seat where you can watch the fish and skewers being grilled, plus plenty of comfortable table seats. We had booked a window seat, so we settled in by the window.
For a date, sitting at the counter seat and watching the fish and skewers grill would probably be extra fun. Once I actually got there I wondered if I should've picked the counter seat instead lol.
On my way to the restroom I found some quieter, more private seating further inside. It was much calmer back there with fewer people around. Those inner seats would work great for a group gathering too.

The complimentary side dish is a fried egg
The fried egg that comes as a complimentary side~ I've almost never seen egg served as a free side dish, and having it griddle-fried like this made it even tastier. A great way to curb hunger before the food arrives.

If you post a receipt review with a photo of your main dish, they give you a free vanilla cheese ice cream. We meant to do it too but forgot while eating — so sad ㅠㅠㅠ

The signature skewer platter (11 kinds) — garlic skewers were the dark horse
The mixed skewer platter we ordered. Since we came to an izakaya, we wanted to eat well-grilled skewers, so we ordered this.

Chicken heart, shrimp, chicken, mushroom, garlic, and more — tasty skewers that filled us up without feeling too heavy as drinking snacks. The meat skewers were of course delicious, but surprisingly the garlic skewer was... nutty and savory-salty like it had been grilled on a meat griddle. So good. The garlic skewer turned out to be my type haha.

Such a nice variety of skewers came out ~~ good amount for two people to share. We came in pretty hungry, and the portion didn't disappoint.

We took everything off the skewers to make it easier to eat lol. Once they're off the sticks, you can just pick them up one by one — so convenient. Perfect bite-sized food.

When the AC gets cold, they even bring a blanket
One extremely thoughtful thing about Robatayaki Sodam.... The air conditioning was blasting straight at our seat. Asking them to turn it off felt a bit much, so we just asked if they could turn the temperature up a little since it was too cold. They adjusted the airflow to blow upward instead, and even brought us a blanket like this. This kind of attentive service was so touching ~~🤭

Nagasaki champon for a soupy side dish
I thought the skewers alone would fill us up, but as we kept chatting... we still wanted more, so we ordered Nagasaki champon. We needed something soupy, and it turned out to be a really nice choice.

It had mussels, bean sprouts, and what looked like small baby octopus, so the broth had decent depth. There was also a mild, gentle spiciness layered in, so it never got tiring to eat. If you're deciding on a soupy side dish, I'd recommend the Nagasaki champon too!! Plenty of ingredients and a solid broth flavor.
Why I'd recommend this as a Guro izakaya
It's great for group gatherings in Guro Digital Complex, the staff were all kind, and the restrooms were clean. Above all, the menu variety and taste were all solid ~~ I'd recommend it as a Guro izakaya. Especially at the main seats, you can watch the fish being grilled right in front of you — it really captures the Japanese izakaya atmosphere well. The Naver receipt review event is also a great deal, so I'd recommend joining in ~~ haha. It was a fun, delicious time enjoying the izakaya with my unnie~
