Today I visited Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch in the Bangi-dong restaurant alley, famous for its deep, rich broth! It's a place I come back to whenever I'm craving a warm, hearty bowl of gukbap (Korean soup with rice), and once again the meal exceeded my expectations. 🤤

Easy access from Jamsil Station and Bangi-dong restaurant alley
The restaurant is located near Jamsil Station and the Bangi-dong restaurant alley, so it's really easy to get to. It's also a great spot for nearby office workers to stop by during lunch hour, and it's already word-of-mouth famous as a Jamsil lunch spot. 😆

What the interior was like
The interior is very clean and well maintained, creating a comfortable atmosphere for anyone, young or old. The tables are spaced generously and everything felt spotless the moment we walked in.

The menu lineup
Looking over the menu, there was quite a variety — from basic sundae gukbap to suyuk gukbap, bone soup, and gamjatang (bone-in pork stew). Beyond the soups, there were also solid side-dish options like assorted boiled pork, sundae, and pork neck, making this a great choice for anyone looking for a sundae gukbap spot in Bangi-dong. 😘

After some deliberation, I went with the bone soup and my boyfriend chose the spicy pork gukbap. To drink, we ordered a refreshing, clean Pepsi Zero Cola, 500ml.

The side dishes start strong with kimchi and kkakdugi
Once the order was placed, the basic side dishes were set out. In a gukbap restaurant, kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) are the most important things, right?! Boseung Hoegwan's kimchi is what keeps bringing me back — it's that good. The kkakdugi is crunchy and just the right balance of spicy-sweet, and the kimchi is genuinely, seriously delicious! Both pair perfectly with gukbap. 🤤

Bone soup ₩12,000 — why I ordered it without perilla
After a short wait, the steaming main dishes arrived. First, my bone soup (₩12,000) came out in a stone bowl piled with big chunks of bone — overwhelming just to look at. Last time I had it at another branch, they added a huge amount of perilla powder, so this time I asked for it without. Without the perilla, the broth's rich, spicy depth came through cleanly with no gamey smell at all — completely to my taste. ♥️

The meat on the bones was so generous and tender — just touching it with chopsticks made the meat fall right off the bone. It wasn't dry at all, just soft and tender, and dipping it lightly in wasabi soy sauce, it practically melted in my mouth. 🥹 Mixing all the rice into the rich broth and topping it with crunchy kkakdugi was a perfect, no-complaints kind of delicious.

Spicy pork gukbap ₩12,000 — how spicy is it really?
My boyfriend's spicy pork gukbap (₩12,000) was just as appealing. The red, fiery-looking broth alone was enough to trigger the appetite. Inside were endless thin, tender slices of boiled pork!! Once again... I was in awe of the portion size. 👏🏼

Stealing a sip of the broth, it was spicy but also had a heavy, deeply savory pork flavor filling my mouth! For anyone who loves spicy food or needs a fiery hangover cure, this would honestly be the best menu item.

As for me, I'm pretty spice-shy, so it was too hot and I only stole one bite and stopped there, but my boyfriend said the broth was rich and refreshing, threw in all the chives, mixed in a whole bowl of rice, and finished it off in no time. 😂 It was truly a quality bowl worthy of a well-known Bangi-dong gukbap restaurant.

The Pepsi Zero Cola (₩2,500), which cut through the richness perfectly in between bites, was also a great choice. 🥤 It was more than enough for two of us to share, and finishing with a cool, fizzy glass of zero cola rounded off a clean, satisfying meal. 👏🏼

Wrap-up
Overall, the portions were very generous and the freshness of the ingredients came together beautifully with the deep flavor of the broth — a satisfying meal all around. The staff were friendly too, which kept the whole experience comfortable. I'd strongly recommend Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch whenever you're craving a hearty, warm bowl of gukbap or want a clean, satisfying lunch. 🔥 We'll definitely be back the next time we're craving good gukbap. 😍
