Euljiro 1-ga Station lunch jokbal with 3 house sauces: Miss Jokbal

I went to Miss Jokbal near Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station for a Myeongdong-area jokbal lunch. Highly, highly recommend the Emperor's Jokbal!!! It's not easy finding a good spot near the office for lunch, right? If you're stuck on where to eat lunch near Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station, definitely give this place a try. I went and I'm telling you!!

Hours are 11:00 to 3:00, with last order at 2:00. Reservations are available too.

Where is Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch, and when is there no wait?

This Myeongdong-area jokbal spot sits between Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station and Myeongdong Station. It's a 4-minute walk from Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station, which makes it perfect for office workers on their lunch break. In the evenings, though, there's quite a wait — especially from 7pm, when the line gets long with foreign tourists. If you want to enjoy your jokbal without the wait, I highly recommend going at lunchtime or around 6pm in the evening.

Inside Miss Jokbal: wide tables and interior

The tables felt genuinely spacious. Being able to spread your arms out while eating jokbal was such a plus! Even with side dishes and kalguksu noodles crowding the table, there was plenty of room to eat comfortably without feeling cramped.

Miss Jokbal menu and the Emperor's Jokbal price

Here's the menu at this Myeongdong-area jokbal, lunch, and Korean food spot. I ordered the hearty Emperor's Jokbal set, and it really did come out looking like a full table spread — practically enough to break the table legs. Emperor's Jokbal costs ₩58,000.

There's a good variety of Korean dishes too, like potato pancakes and cheese potato pancakes. They also serve fish cake stew, tteokbokki, sundae (Korean blood sausage), soft tofu stew, galbitang, and pork bone soup — it's a full-on Korean restaurant!

What side dishes come with the Emperor's Jokbal platter?

Jokbal is the star at Miss Jokbal, but the side dishes are genuinely abundant too. Lettuce, napa cabbage, salad, tofu kimchi, mukbap (mung bean jelly soup) — the variety was huge.

And that's not even everything at Miss Jokbal. You also get gimbap (seaweed rice roll), japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), and a bowl of kimchi on top of that. It's not just one dish start to finish — you get to enjoy several things. There's never a moment to get tired of jokbal, haha. Wrap some in lettuce, eat some salad, have some mukbap...

How does the jokbal taste? Soft, tender texture

At this Myeongdong-area jokbal spot, the star is the tender meat itself. It's soft enough to fall apart. One bite and it just melts. So tender, so soft, it melts in your mouth 😋😋

The dipping sauces for the jokbal are house-made too — three kinds, each with a totally different flavor.

Finishing with spicy kalguksu noodles

At the end, they bring out kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) too. After finishing the jokbal, a bowl of noodles brimming with broth is the perfect way to close things out. The broth is spicy-hot and a little fiery, but the heat level is just right. That spicy kick completely washes away any lingering richness from the jokbal!
