Finding Halls Gimbap from Gyodae Station
Come out of Line 2 Gyodae Station Exit 1 and keep walking straight, turn into the alley by the CU convenience store, and look to the right(?) — you'll spot it right away.

Halls Gimbap, the gimbap spot everyone raves about near Gyodae!! If you come out Line 3 Exit 12, you can find it by just going straight for longer.

Business hours~~ True to its reputation as a Gyodae favorite, delivery orders were pouring in right up to closing. I was picking up takeout and it took a little while.

Drinks and ramyeon corner, and payment options
They also sell all kinds of tasty drinks, so if you're watching your diet or looking for zero-sugar drinks, non-carbonated teas and juices are really well stocked too!!!

My favorite, bonito flake broth.. You always had to have this at places like Gimbap Nara, right?

Ramyeon (instant noodle soup), gimbap's best friend, is also stocked in loads of varieties by type.

Payment options are varied too — Kakao Pay, Zero Pay, Seoul Pay, bank transfer, and this is a store where you can use government consumption coupons!
Inside the dining hall — any solo seats?

The restaurant has quite a few tables and it's really good for solo dining. There are even 3 bar seats!! Great for eating together with friends packed in cozily, and also great for coming to eat alone.

Cute little horse figurines are scattered here and there.
The menu and the half-and-half set composition

Every single menu item looked so delicious.

Half-and-half orders are possible, and the set comes with fried chicken included!! If a combination isn't listed there, you can just ask and they'll make it for you!

Halls Gimbap really uses good ingredients~~ I ordered
- Green Onion Tuna + Halls Gimbap Half-and-Half Set
- 1 roll of Double Cheese Egg Gimbap
That's what I ordered!!

They packed the takeout so neatly like this.

Half fried chicken, half gimbap. I worried the set might be a bit skimpy on gimbap, but I ended up completely full.

The single roll of gimbap looked like this.

Perfect for lunch or dinner. True to its reputation as a well-known Gyodae favorite, delivery orders, takeout orders, and dine-in were all overflowing!!

How do the tuna-scallion, cheese-egg, and Halls gimbap taste?
They look so, so delicious right... And they really are that good in person.

Packed full of tuna, so it felt protein-rich too, and the scallion aroma completely cut through any greasiness.

The cheese gimbap loaded with plenty of egg too!!

Halls gimbap with stir-fried fish cake in it — seriously, everything was so delicious.

The fried chicken with a pepper kick
You really have to try the fried chicken. Honestly I didn't have high expectations for it, but it was so good I was completely satisfied. The pepper is the kicker. Soft, crispy fried chicken with two pieces of hot pepper on top, ugh... Amazing, amazing, amazing.
Gimbap as a solo lunch option for office workers
These days when I'm stuck wondering what to eat for lunch, gimbap ends up being the most reliable option in the end. It's simple to eat while including rice and side dishes all in one, so it's great for eating alone, and especially when your lunch break is short at work, you end up looking for something you can eat fast. And that's how I discovered this Gyodae favorite, Halls Gimbap!! At first I thought it was just an ordinary gimbap place, but looking at the menu, the variety was more unique than expected, with lots of options you could eat healthily.
When you want gimbap near Gyodae Station
Halls Gimbap Main Branch is located near Gyodae Station, so it was a decent spot for office workers to visit for lunch too. Instead of just standard gimbap, there were slightly unusual options like Jindo green onion tuna gimbap, wasabi gimbap, and konjac water dropwort gimbap, which I liked. I was curious about all of them, but I just ordered the popular items.
Does it work for meal management too?
When you're dieting or managing your meals, eating only salads gets old, right, ugh. But regular gimbap can feel a bit heavy in terms of rice portion or ingredients, whereas Halls Gimbap uses a bit less rice and packs in lots of healthy ingredients, so it actually felt like diet-friendly gimbap!! Seems like it'd suit people who want to eat a bit lighter.
This combo, next time I order
Everything is so, so delicious that it's hard to pick a menu. First, the set menu with a half-and-half! Definitely include the green onion tuna, and then either Halls or cheese-egg depending on what I'm craving that day! When I'm craving something softer and more savory, cheese-egg (also good protein) When I'm craving something fresh and salty, Halls gimbap! (It has more vegetables so it feels more diet-friendly) I'll have to try the other menu items too.
It's also great to go in alone for something simple and quick, and great to take back to the office or home too. Halls Gimbap also offers takeout and delivery, so it seems like a solid choice even for office workers who can't make it to the store during lunch. Especially for people working near Gyodae Station, this is the kind of place that could come to mind when you're stuck on what to have for lunch!
If you like gimbap, I'd recommend giving it a try at least once — it's worth visiting as a Gyodae favorite. Especially if you've been looking for solo dining near Gyodae Station or a Gyodae gimbap favorite, add Halls Gimbap to your list! Next time I want to try other menu items too, so I think I'll be visiting again haha.
