Seocho gimbap restaurant for bonito broth lunch: Halls

This is one of the menus I truly love. It is something I usually eat when I want to grab a quick takeaway and have a solo meal, but I am the type who actually seeks it out. This place is genuinely delicious, so I came back again.

Halls Gimbap Main Branch near Gyodae Station: location and basics

Halls Gimbap Main Branch is about five minutes from Exit 1 of Gyodae Station. Head a little way into a side street from the main road and you will find it. The horse on the sign really catches your eye!! There is an outdoor terrace right in front of the entrance. The breeze has gotten so cool lately that I think it would taste even better eating outside!!

A restaurant atmosphere that was great for solo dining

They get lots of takeaway and delivery orders, but the restaurant itself is spacious and clean, making it great for eating alone. It is a good place for nearby office workers to visit at lunchtime. There is also an outdoor terrace, so there were quite a lot of seats.

The previous restaurant with only a name change

Otok Gimbap Seocho is now operating under only a changed name. I heard that the owner, staff, gimbap auntie, counter staff, sweet crispy chicken staff, seasonings, flavors, and cooking methods are all the same as before. Those who were regulars before can keep visiting, I think.

There are also all kinds of cup noodles on one side of the restaurant. There is such a wide variety that it is easy to choose whatever suits your taste. Ramen is one of the best pairings, after all.

Halls Gimbap + Sweet Crispy Chicken Set

It is such a delicious set no matter when you eat it!! A whole roll of gimbap and large pieces of sweet crispy chicken make it wonderfully generous. You could really call it the ultimate combination!!

I loved how generously and fully packed it was with fillings!! The rice was spread as thinly as possible, which I liked even more!! It is loaded with cucumber, carrot, pickled radish, egg, and fish cake.

There is as little rice as possible and lots of vegetables and protein, so it even has a fresh spring-roll kind of feel—so delicious!!! The crisp texture of the vegetables is wonderful too, and it feels a bit like eating a salad, which makes it really tasty!!

The thin, crisp coating is so delicious!!! After that crunchy texture comes the savory, juicy chicken; it is sweet and tasty without being overly salty. The sweet crispy chicken itself is not spicy at all, so it is good for kids too. Eat it with Cheongyang chili peppers and it is wonderfully sweet and spicy!!!

The bonito broth I drank two cups of

This is bonito broth with no added seasonings. I drank two cups of it when I ate at the restaurant, haha. It is seriously delicious!!! It has an incredibly rich, deep flavor.

Taking home the same set

I took home the same set and ate it again. For lunch boxes, outings, picnics, group gatherings, or events, I think everyone would be happy if you placed a group order and prepared these—because they are delicious!!

These were already menus I loved individually, but I really love this combination eaten together!! If I worked nearby, I think I would eat it three times a week, haha. It is so delicious that I am extremely satisfied every time I eat it!!! If you are looking for a great solo lunch near Gyodae Station, I highly recommend it!!!
