Suwon food hall restaurant yakisoba set: Jojo AK Plaza

When you’re shopping in Suwon, figuring out where to eat can be a little tricky, right? Especially when you want a quick but filling meal inside a department store, a food court feels like the easiest choice. This time, I stopped by Jojo AK Plaza Suwon (죠죠 AK플라자 수원점) in the AK Plaza Suwon food hall!

Parking and hours at Jojo AK Plaza Suwon

It is on B1 at 924 Deogyeong-daero, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea (경기 수원시 팔달구 덕영대로 924 B1층, 매산로1가 18), and opens at 10:30. Monday through Thursday, hours are 10:30–20:00 with last orders at 19:30; Friday through Sunday, hours are 10:30–20:30 with last orders at 20:00.

Teppanyaki at food hall bar tables

This spot is inside the food hall! With bar tables, it didn’t feel awkward to eat alone, and the seats were comfortable for a solo meal. Best of all, I could watch the teppanyaki cooking through the glass window, which was pretty fun to see haha.

Yakisoba and okonomiyaki menu

• Fried rice: Yaki Fried Rice ₩12,000 / Shio Fried Rice ₩12,000

The main dishes are yakisoba and okonomiyaki! They also have set menus, so it seemed like a good-value way to try several dishes together haha.

The yakisoba set I ordered while shopping

As I looked over the menu, the yakisoba caught my eye, so I ordered it right away. I got the yakisoba set!

I placed my order and waited for the food, and I was happy that it came out faster than I expected. People often come to a food court for a quick meal while shopping, so it was nice that the wait was not long and I could eat without any fuss.

Yakisoba with sauce in every strand

The yakisoba looked delicious even before I took a bite, with sauce evenly coating the noodles. The noodles were nicely springy yet soft, and I could really taste the savory, umami-rich flavor of the sauce.

Rather than being overly salty or spicy, it was the kind of flavor anyone could enjoy comfortably. In particular, eating the yakisoba with vegetables here and there kept it from feeling too rich, and I just kept reaching for more.

There were pieces of pork belly throughout, too! There wasn’t even a hint of any unpleasant smell, and it was so nutty and delicious with the noodles!

And the cabbage was so crisp and fresh 🥹 It added great texture with the yakisoba and tasted so good!

Better-than-expected pollock roe gyoza and mayo

And these were the pollock roe gyoza (myeongran gyoja) that were seriously better than expected.. ❤ They were crisp on the outside and packed with meat inside, so every bite was wonderfully juicy!!

At first, the portion looked pretty big, so I thought, “How am I going to finish all this?” hahaha. But as I ate, I somehow cleared every last bit.. 🤣 Another delicious meal today!

Dip them into the pollock roe mayo and you get an extra salty, nutty flavor—this combination is seriously amazing.. 🥹 If you love pollock roe, I think this would totally be your thing.. ❤️ If you like gyoza, make sure you try them dipped in the pollock roe mayo!!!
