Something About Coffee, a Gangnam Station café spanning the 1st to 3rd floors with sleek interiors, is a comfortable spot to sit and chat. The drinks are tasty, and the quality of the handmade desserts, made in-house with top-notch ingredients, is high, drawing plenty of cake lovers and baked-good fans. Even visiting on a weekday at 2pm, a good number of people were already having a great time!

Where to park near Something About Coffee: the public lot

Something About Coffee doesn't have its own parking lot. Since it's tucked inside an alley, you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot. The Modu's Parking Lot (모두의 주차장) app makes it quick and cheap.

It's about a 5-minute walk away, so search for it before you head over!

Floors 1, 2 and 3 at Something About Coffee: which seats to take

Something About Coffee uses three floors, 1st to 3rd, with the counter on the 2nd floor. Even from a distance, this Gangnam Station café stands out! With its white-toned interior and outdoor terrace seats visible from outside, I could already tell it would be a comfortable place to linger even before stepping in.

It's made up of three floors. The 1st floor is just seating, so you'll need to head up to the 2nd floor, where the counter is, to order first. Since the floors each have their own vibe, the tip is to claim a seat that matches the mood you're after before ordering!

This is the 2nd floor. It has higher ceilings than the 1st floor, giving it a somewhat more open feel. The window seats are popular, so grab one early if you can :)

The 3rd floor has a calmer, warmer interior concept than the other floors. Even though I visited around 2pm on a weekday, people kept streaming in. If you want a quiet conversation, grab a table further inside!

I ended up settling on the 3rd floor since the air conditioning was noticeably stronger there than on the 1st or 2nd floors. There are also outdoor terrace seats, which would add a romantic touch once the cool autumn breeze sets in. The spaces are all so appealing — great for couples, but also for friends, family, or a casual get-together!

Desserts made in-house and what we ordered

Something About Coffee's signature is the hojicha choux milk tea (₩8,500), and baked goods and cakes are lined up side by side in the showcase in front of the counter. Here's the menu board at this Gangnam Station café. The drink lineup is varied too. The hojicha choux milk tea is especially good, so if it's your first visit, make sure to try it.

The dessert showcase in front of the counter is arranged so neatly that I ended up ordering dessert even though I'd only come for a drink. There was a good variety of baked goods that are easy to eat on the go, too.

There's also a wide range of cakes. They looked so good I almost wanted to buy a whole cake. I picked a sweet one to pair with the americano.

How do the hojicha choux milk tea, chestnut financier and mont blanc cheesecake taste?

At Something About Coffee, they let you know your drinks and desserts are ready with a buzzer — and everything looked so good I couldn't help but photograph it all. I love chestnuts, and isn't the chestnut-shaped financier just adorable?

You can tell care went into the signature hojicha choux milk tea, true to being this place's signature drink. It came topped with milk choux, with a deep, gentle tea aroma and not overly sweet — a great pairing with dessert. The americano, with more nutty flavor than bitterness, balanced nicely with dessert too.

The chestnut financier has a whole chestnut baked inside, so if you love chestnuts, this one's for you, and the sesame seeds on top doubled the nutty flavor. The salted choco financier, as the name suggests, had that classic sweet-and-salty balance.

This is the mont blanc cheesecake. The deep chestnut flavor and salty cheese came together surprisingly well. With cream cheese that was dense yet melted softly, and the subtle chestnut aroma unique to mont blanc, it felt like a genuinely upscale cake. But it wasn't just sweet — it paired well with coffee, and honestly, it felt like the perfect dessert for autumn and winter.

Would I return to this Gangnam Station café?

Visiting in person, I understood exactly why so many people choose Something About Coffee among the countless cafés near Gangnam Station. Handmade desserts and drinks, all made in-house. Staying true to the basics of what makes a good café while also offering a pleasant interior across all three floors — everything was satisfying, and I think I'll be dropping by often whenever I'm in the area :)
