In short

Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch (꼰대김부장고깃집 강남역점) is an aged pork Korean BBQ restaurant a 5-minute walk from Exit 11 of Gangnam Station in Seoul. The writer ordered the Kim Daeri Off-Work-On-Time Set, 1.1kg for 89,000 won, made up of 400g aged whole pork belly, 400g aged whole pork neck and 300g pork skin, with Saero soju and Cass beer, then finished with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and bibim guksu (spicy cold noodles). Signature table spread of meat at Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch

Hi, it's Honey!

Whenever a group of us meets up at Gangnam Station, the hardest part is always picking a place. Especially when there are a lot of people, you need enough seating and a menu that everyone will like — which usually means ending up at a Korean BBQ spot.

This time we decided to really go for it and visited Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch. The name itself has such a strong office-worker-dinner vibe that it made us laugh from the start lol. We ordered a full 1kg of meat and ate our fill.

Where is Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch, and is there parking?

Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch is at 20 Gangnam-daero 98-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, ground floor. It's an easy spot to reach by public transit from Gangnam Station — about 340m, or a 5-minute walk, from Exit 11, so you won't get lost after leaving the station.

Gangnam Station meetups often bring people together from different parts of the city, so a spot this close to the station is convenient to set as the meeting point.

Parking is available for those driving, though it's reportedly first-come, first-served, so if you're planning to drive I'd recommend calling ahead to check availability.

The restaurant is also described as group-friendly, and the seating inside is genuinely set up for several people to sit together comfortably, making it a good fit for a Gangnam Station group gathering or office dinner.

Exterior of Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch with glass front and large sign

Just a short walk down the alley from Gangnam Station, the big Kkondae Kim Bujang sign was easy to spot. The full glass front lets you see inside from the street, and there's a menu board out front so you can check the menu and prices before going in.

With the restaurant name written so big on the sign, there was no chance of walking past it lol. Places tucked into alleys near Gangnam Station can be tricky to find, but this one's exterior really stood out.

Seating at Kkondae Kim Bujang built for group dinners

The interior of Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch was bigger than expected, with plenty of table space. Besides the regular tables, there were sofa-style seats along the wall good for several people, and the tables could be pushed together — a good match for a Gangnam Station group meetup or office dinner.

Each table had its own ventilation setup, as you'd expect from a BBQ place, and the whole space felt tidy and well kept.

The job-title menu at Kkondae Kim Bujang: set line-ups and prices

Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip centers on aged pork, with everything from à la carte items to large group sets. The menu names all follow an office job-title concept, which was fun to browse through lol.

The signature set, Kim Daeri's Off-Work-On-Time Set, totals 1.1kg — aged whole pork belly 400g + aged whole pork neck 400g + pork skin 300g — for ₩89,000. It's a good composition for a group wanting to enjoy pork belly and pork neck together.

For something more filling, there's Kim Chajang's Meat Explosion Set at 1.5kg for ₩136,000, which adds kkodeulsal, hangjeongsal (pork jowl), gabrisal (pork shoulder blade), and pork skin so you can try several cuts at once. The largest, the Deputy Manager's Entertainment Set, is a full 2kg for ₩167,000, including don tomahawk, pork belly, pork neck, specialty cuts and pork skin — a solid choice for a large group dinner.

À la carte options include aged pork belly 200g for ₩18,900 and kkodeulsal 200g for ₩18,900, and after the meat there are meal menu items like Kim Gwajang's Bibim Guksu, Kim Daeri's Off-Work-On-Time Kalguksu, and Kkondae Kim Bujang's Fried Rice.

With such an office-life-themed menu, it's a fun setting for a Gangnam Station Korean BBQ group dinner.

Ordering the Kim Daeri Off-Work-On-Time Set, 1.1kg for 89,000 won

What we ordered was the Kim Daeri Off-Work-On-Time Set, 1.1kg! It's made up of aged whole pork belly 400g + aged whole pork neck 400g + pork skin 300g, priced at ₩89,000.

  • Kim Daeri Off-Work-On-Time Set 1.1kg — ₩89,000 (aged whole pork belly 400g + aged whole pork neck 400g + pork skin 300g)
  • Saero
  • Cass beer

1.1kg of meat alone, so we figured we might as well go all in lol. With 400g each of pork belly and pork neck plus pork skin at the end, it was a great composition for a group of us.

And of course, meat needs drinks. We ordered a clean Saero and a cold Cass beer to get things going properly :)

The banchan basket that arrives before the pork

Before the meat came out, the table was already covered with banchan (side dishes). They all arrived together in a big basket, which made a generous first impression.

There were the usual lettuce and garlic, along with shredded green onion, pickles, kimchi and various sauces to mix and match as you liked. There were even pan-fried items and fried side dishes you don't usually see at a Korean BBQ place, which made picking through everything fun!

Even before the 1.1kg of meat arrived, the table was already packed, so it's a spread that won't leave a Gangnam Station BBQ group dinner wanting.

A full spread of lettuce and banchan served in a basket

What really caught my eye was the pollack roe! It's not common for BBQ places to include pollack roe as a basic side dish, so it was a nice surprise. The salty, popping roe over warm rice was already a solid bite on its own.

I kept reaching for rice even before the meat arrived haha. The roe itself is fairly seasoned, so it went especially well with rice.

Aged pork belly and pork neck grilled by the staff

The meat came out golden brown and cooked just right, cut into easy-to-eat pieces on the grill. Since the staff grilled it for us, we could just talk and eat without lifting a finger, which was great.

Both the pork belly and pork neck were thick cuts, browned nicely on the outside while staying juicy inside. It was good on its own, but with such a wide range of banchan, mixing and matching combinations was part of the fun.

Pork neck wrapped with lettuce and shredded green onion

My personal favorite was meat plus pollack roe! Piling the salty roe generously onto the meat added a big hit of umami to the savory pork, and I kept going back for more lol.

Wrapped in lettuce, paired with shredded green onion, topped with roe — even at 1.1kg, it disappeared faster than expected. When there's a group, ordering plenty of meat really is the right call.

Doenjang jjigae with tofu and shiitake mushrooms

Finishing with doenjang jjigae and bibim guksu

Halfway through the meat, you start craving something warm and brothy. We also tried the doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) that came with the meal. It was packed with tofu, shiitake mushrooms, zucchini and green onion, with a savory broth good for sipping between bites of meat.

After all that rich meat, a spoonful of warm doenjang jjigae really felt like a palate reset!

Kim Gwajang's bibim guksu topped with cucumber and vegetables

And of course, the finale after meat is bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles). The bright red noodles came loaded with cucumber and vegetables, and just looking at it brought my appetite back. The sauce was sweet, tangy and spicy — exactly the right style to clean the palate after all that meat!

Wrapping the leftover piece of meat in the bibim guksu noodles was the perfect combo lol. The savory meat and the spicy-tangy noodles worked so well together that I kept eating even when full. Between the meat, doenjang jjigae and bibim guksu, we ended up perfectly, comfortably full.

Overall review of Kkondae Kim Bujang Gangnam Station Branch

Taste

The thick aged pork belly and pork neck were grilled just right by the staff, so we could enjoy them without any effort. The meat-plus-pollack-roe combo stood out most, and the bibim guksu rounded things off nicely.

Price

The Kim Daeri Off-Work-On-Time Set is ₩89,000 for 1.1kg — a solid amount for a group meal. Getting to try pork belly, pork neck and pork skin all in one set was a plus.

Atmosphere

With plenty of tables and seating suited to larger groups, it made for a good atmosphere for a Gangnam Station group meetup or office dinner.

Service

Having the staff grill the meat for us was the best part. Even with a big group, no one had to step away from the conversation to keep tending the grill!

Would I go back to Kkondae Kim Bujang?

If I ever need to eat BBQ with a group near Gangnam Station again, I'd come back. Next time I'd like to try some of the other specialty cuts.
