A snack I discovered while traveling in Sokcho: Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread. A great place to stop by on the way home to pack some for the road, and also a nice spot to relax with a cup of coffee. Since you can get both potato bread and jjondeugi (chewy rice snack), it was a great place to pick up travel gifts too.

How the potato bread and jjondeugi taste unheated

I ordered one box of Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread for ₩10,000 and one box of squid-flavored jjondeugi for ₩10,000. Both come individually wrapped, so it's easy to pull out and eat one at a time.

Opening the box of potato bread, each piece was individually wrapped. Being individually wrapped makes it easy to eat one at a time as a snack, and also easy to toss one into your bag when you're in a hurry.

Individually wrapped Sokcho Bultan Gamja Bread

It said you'd enjoy it more if microwaved, but since I was too impatient, I decided to just taste it as-is~ The chewy, soft bread went well with the smoothly mashed potato.

It wasn't overpowering and, more than anything, wasn't too sweet. A flavor with the subtle, savory taste of boiled potato.

The jjondeugi was also individually wrapped, each one holding just the right amount for one serving.

Individually wrapped squid-flavored jjondeugi

It has a thicker chew than the jjondeugi I remember eating as a kid. Since it's squid-flavored, it almost felt like I was eating actual squid.

Squid-flavored jjondeugi with a thick, chewy texture

Being a thicker jjondeugi, the texture is great and it's perfect for when your mouth feels a bit bored, so I found myself reaching for more without noticing. That chewy texture with the subtle squid aroma kept me coming back.

Jjondeugi and potato bread, good for snacking

Especially since the calories are really low, you can eat it without much guilt. If you're dieting, it might be a good snack to keep you from breaking out into a binge, haha.
