Siheung Korean BBQ restaurant with cheesy fried rice: Ssosam 208
In short
Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch is a Korean barbecue restaurant in Siheung, Gyeonggi, where staff grill the meat from start to finish. We enjoyed the Marvel Moving Set with the kids, plus complimentary kimchi rice-noodle soup, beef brisket soybean-paste stew, and cheesy fried rice. Verdict: a relaxed choice for a family meat dinner without the grilling work.

Last weekend, I went out for meat with the kids at Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch, a standout Baegot meat restaurant that has even been recognized on TV! Taking children to a Korean barbecue place can be hectic when you are looking after them and flipping the meat at the same time, but I heard Ssosam 208 in Siheung Baegot grills everything perfectly for you from start to finish, so I arrived really looking forward to it!

Location and parking at Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch
It is on the first floor of Dain Royal Palace 4 near Megabox in Baegot's central shopping district, so it was really easy to find! After passing the restaurant, enter the underground parking lot in the building to the left. They offer up to two and a half hours of free parking, so make sure to register your license plate when you pay! It also fits nicely into a date itinerary for Siheung Premium Outlet, Oido, or Baegot Life Park.
What is the spacious, comfortable dining room like?
First of all, the wide dining room and high ceiling meant we could eat without feeling cramped at all. Even though it is a meat restaurant, it felt fresh rather than smoky :) The view through the floor-to-ceiling windows was lovely too, and the overall interior had a hip feel, so I think it would be perfect for a Baegot date as well.

The Marvel Moving Set and complimentary starters
At Ssosam 208 in Siheung Baegot, ordering a set rather than individual items is much more generous and better value :) There are sets with different combinations, so you can choose according to the cuts you like. Another big plus is the wide range of side dishes, which lets you mix and match your meal. We ordered the Marvel Moving Set: pork belly 200g, special pork neck 200g, and gabrisal 170g.
Once we sat down and ordered, the basic banchan (Korean side dishes) arrived with complimentary kimchi rice-noodle soup! It can be refilled once per table. The thin noodles and mild broth were delicious, just right for freshening up before the meat arrived. Best of all, the thoughtful service made it so easy to feed the kids first while the meat was cooking!

The staff-grilled Marvel Moving Set
Ssosam 208 first par-grills the meat over 500°C charcoal, then grills it again on a 208°C griddle! All you have to do is wait without lifting a finger, and the friendly staff cook it perfectly to an easy-to-eat size and doneness!
The moment I took a bite of the meat they grilled for us, the juices bursting inside were seriously incredible! It was delicious wrapped up with myeonginamul (pickled mountain garlic leaves) and grilled kimchi, and it just kept going down when paired with garlic-wasabi sauce or minari (water parsley)!

Side dishes we ordered with the meat
You cannot leave out the sides when eating meat, right? We ordered soybean-paste stew, flying-fish-roe steamed egg, and bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) too. You really have to order Ssosam 208's soybean-paste stew! It is not an ordinary doenjang-jjigae (soybean-paste stew): it is packed with beef brisket, so the broth was amazingly rich and substantial. The fluffy, tender flying-fish-roe steamed egg and tangy-spicy bibim naengmyeon also went so well with the meat that we ate it all in a blur!

Finishing with cheesy fried rice
As we were finishing the meat, we rounded things out properly with cheesy fried rice, an essential Korean finale! It was not very spicy, so it was great to share with the kids, and scraping up the generous cheese on top and the nutty crispy rice stuck to the bottom of the griddle was pure bliss.

I highly recommend Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch to anyone looking for a Baegot date spot, family meal, or group dinner venue!
