In short

Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Siheung, Gyeonggi, where staff grill aged Korean pork over charcoal. We had the Marble Five-Layer Pork Belly Set and kimchi stew, and the complimentary pho with garlic-wasabi sauce was a standout. Verdict: an easy, satisfying spot for grilled pork and conversation.

Even on days when I’m seriously craving meat, grilling, flipping, and cutting it myself at the table can get so hectic that we barely get to talk properly 😭 I went to Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch, a Baegot Korean BBQ spot where the staff grill everything perfectly from start to finish, so all you have to do is eat! They use Korean pork slaughtered within five days, age it for 96 hours, then give it an initial sear over charcoal. We had the generously portioned Marble Five-Layer Pork Belly Set with spicy, punchy kimchi stew, and left totally full 👏

Where is it, and what about parking?

It’s tucked into an alley in Baegot’s central shopping district, so it was easy to find. It’s also just a five-minute drive from Siheung Premium Outlets, making it a great place to continue a shopping date 👍 Parking in the building’s underground lot is covered for up to two and a half hours, which is nice and relaxed. The entrance and internal lanes are a little tight, though, so newer drivers may prefer the nearby public lot and claim the ₩2,000 parking subsidy.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and complimentary pho

Inside, the full front windows made the space feel wonderfully open and airy! The tables were generously spaced too, and there was even an eight-person group table, so it looked ideal for a family meal, gathering, or work dinner. As soon as we sat down, the basic spread arrived—and I’d never seen pho served as a complimentary starter at a Korean BBQ restaurant before 🥺

It was hot and pleasantly spicy, really waking up the appetite before the meat arrived. Amazingly, you can refill it once for free, which felt incredibly generous.

Marble Five-Layer Pork Belly Set: charcoal sear and grilling

Charcoal-seared Marble Five-Layer Pork Belly Set
Set with five-layer pork belly and pork neck

The Marble Five-Layer Pork Belly Set we ordered includes 400 g of five-layer pork belly and 200 g of pork neck—just the right generous amount for two or three people!

After an initial charcoal smoking and searing in the kitchen, an experienced staff member grills everything from beginning to end on the 208-degree griddle.

The grill design was especially impressive 👏 There are clearly separated areas for grilling meat, cooking kimchi and bean sprouts, and holding cooked meat so it doesn’t burn, meaning kimchi seasoning doesn’t get all over everything! HACCP-certified kimchi and bean sprouts sizzled away in pork fat, and honestly, the aroma alone was unreal.

Springy pork belly and the sauce pairings

I picked up a piece of the cooked five-layer pork belly for a taste. With the skin still on, it had that wonderfully springy yet crisp chewy texture that was absolutely the star of the show!

The juices burst out, while a subtle smoky aroma had soaked in, so it never became too rich 🥰 The standard sauces included Maldon salt, myeolchi jeot (salted anchovy sauce), cumin seasoning, ssamjang (savory dipping paste), and Ssosam’s special garlic-wasabi sauce. My absolute number-one favorite was dipping it in that pungent-sweet garlic-wasabi sauce.

Wrap a piece of meat in fresh perilla leaf with grilled bean sprouts and onion, and take one huge bite—it’s the kind of flavor that melts all your stress away 🤍

Spicy, punchy kimchi stew

Kimchi stew with aged kimchi and tofu

When you’re eating grilled meat, you naturally start craving a spicy soup, right? The kimchi stew arrived bubbling in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot), packed generously with well-aged kimchi, thick pieces of pork, and tofu 👍 One spoonful was clean and deeply spicy without any muddiness, the perfect match for cutting through the rich pork belly fat. A bite of meat followed by a spoonful of punchy kimchi stew was so good it made rice disappear.

My overall verdict

  • Springy Korean five-layer pork belly with no off smell, thanks to charcoal searing and 96-hour aging
  • A hands-free grilling service that lets you relax from start to finish
  • A practical, hygienic specialty grill with separate meat and kimchi zones
  • A spicy, unusual complimentary pho starter
  • A clean, generous kimchi stew that neatly cuts through the meat’s richness

If you’re looking for a Baegot Korean BBQ restaurant where you can chat comfortably without ever needing to pick up the tongs, make sure to stop by Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch—a place that delivers both juicy pork and pure convenience 🤍
