Mangwon coffee shop in Seoul for mint fresh lemonade: PICT Roastery
In short
PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is a roastery café in the semi-basement of a red brick house on an alley off World Cup-ro 23-gil in Mapo, Seoul. After a weekend meal, PICT Roastery served an iced americano made with nutty beans, a mint fresh lemonade and pistachio tiramisu, and the tartness of the fresh-squeezed lemon alongside the heavy, nut-like body of the coffee stood out. Wandering the alleys of Mangwon-dong one weekend, I stumbled on a new café — PICT Roastery, known for its beans and desserts.
Mangwon-dong has plenty of charming, stylish cafés, but this place nails all three: deep-flavored house-roasted coffee, handmade desserts, and an atmospheric space. Perfect for a date or a bit of solo downtime.
Where is PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch, and where do you park?
PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is on an alley near Mangwon Station, at 45 Wolgworld-ro 23-gil, 1st floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Being tucked into the alley makes it easy to reach, and it's a great stop after browsing Mangwon Market or nearby restaurants.
If you're driving, nearby public parking lots (like the Mangwon 1-dong Community Center public lot) make visiting convenient.

The red brick house and the semi-basement entrance
PICT Roastery sits in a classic red brick building that captures the quiet charm of Mangwon-dong's alleys.

The warm, vintage texture of the red brick catches your eye right from the exterior, and the mirrors and cute posters cleverly installed on the wall make for an irresistible Instagram photo spot.

What makes this place especially unique is that it's a cozy semi-basement space you reach by walking down a few steps — giving off that distinctive Mangwon-dong feel.

The character drawn on the sign is so cute.

The fig toast on display near the stairway looked so good (but we'd just eaten, so haha, full stomach).

Three things we ordered at PICT Roastery after our meal
Since we'd already eaten, we went with a combo of PICT Roastery's signature coffee, a drink, and its representative handmade dessert.

- Iced americano (nutty bean choice)
- Mint fresh lemonade
- Pistachio tiramisu
These three menu items, ordered!

Mint fresh lemonade: how does it taste?
The mint fresh lemonade is a menu item I strongly recommend to anyone who doesn't drink coffee, or who wants something refreshing and tangy.

It's not the artificial syrup taste — it's made with real fresh-squeezed lemon juice, and the tartness pairs with the fresh mint leaves' cool aroma for an ade that refreshes your mood too.

The fizzy carbonation combined with the fresh mint scent fills you with a clean, crisp refreshment.

Iced americano with the nutty bean choice
PICT Roastery lets you choose the bean type to your taste, so I went with the nutty beans, which give a heavier body over acidity.

From the first sip, the nutty, nut-like richness and heavy body filled my mouth — excellent. The finish was clean with no off-notes, showing the expertise you'd expect from a specialty roastery café. It struck a perfect balance for pairing with dessert.

Pistachio tiramisu at PICT Roastery
The pistachio tiramisu is a handmade signature dessert you absolutely shouldn't miss if you visit PICT Roastery.

The soft mascarpone cream base is loaded with pistachio's distinctive nuttiness and a satisfying bite.

With one spoonful, the cream melts smoothly in your mouth, the soaked sponge layer, and the rich pistachio flavor all come together intensely.

The combination with the nutty iced americano was really excellent.

Seating and atmosphere in the semi-basement café
Through the window, you can see the low view of people passing by in the alley, which gave off this cozy, snug feeling — like being inside a secret hideout.

Inside, modern touches, warm wood tones, and a muted color palette come together in harmony, and true to a roastery café, the moment you step in you're greeted by a soft, nutty coffee bean aroma filling the space.

The tables are spaced comfortably apart, making it great for chatting quietly with a partner or friend, and the window seats are ideal for enjoying some solo time while watching the alley scene.
