Yongsan beauty salon for outdoor-shoot makeup and soft curls: Cheongdam Shop

I had an outdoor shoot coming up, so I was debating where to go and started looking into hair-and-makeup salons. This one is right next to Sinyongsan Station, has parking, and even had great reviews, haha. I was curious, so I booked it—let me honestly tell you about my daily hair-and-makeup visit to Cheongdam Shop~~!

Cheongdam Shop Sinyongsan Branch: location and hours

It is at 133, 1F Mall C, Yongsan Central Park Harrington Square, 17 Seobinggo-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 19:30 and Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00, and is regularly closed on Sundays. That said, they do take Sunday reservations for hair styling and makeup only :)

You can get makeup, photo and wedding makeup, hair and makeup, and head-spa services, and pets are welcome too. Parking was available at Harrington Square, with 2 hours supported ^^ It is close to both Sinyongsan Station and Yongsan Station, so I think it would be easy for anyone using public transit too~~!

They also do cuts, coloring, and perms, so I was looking forward to their hair work as well as the makeup, haha.

A spotless salon and private makeup room

When I went in, the kind director welcomed me, and the first impression was just so neat and clean, haha.

I loved that the makeup area was divided into private rooms :) It did not have that assembly-line feel—you can book and receive your service privately, and I also liked that curtains separated the spaces~~!

They also had an impressively clean and varied selection of cosmetics!

You know how seeing a neatly arranged vanity somehow just puts you in a good mood, right? ><

Consultation for cool-pink makeup for an outdoor shoot

At the start, we talked about the style I wanted and the purpose of the hair and makeup. I said I wanted daily makeup for an outdoor shoot, and when they asked about color, I said a cool-toned pink~~ They said they would make it look that way in photos?!!!

I could feel that they were tailoring everything to a shoot, outdoors, and a daily look, which was amazing—the attention to detail felt different, haha. They carefully applied all the different products one by one, layer by layer~

Those detailed hands!!! Haha, they worked quickly but carefully.

They picked out lashes that suited my eyes, right away, in just one go—it really felt professional, haha.

They even gave me cotton swabs and lip product. I will show you the before, after, and final shots, then share my overall thoughts~~!

Lashes and hair volume finished without overdoing it

First, before the makeup, I look tired... and totally lacking energy... haha. They were taking care to make sure nothing lifted around the sides of my cheeks!!

After the makeup, they applied very sturdy, long-lasting lashes, checked that my eyes were comfortable, and made the lower lashes look very natural too!!! I loved that it was not overdone, haha.

The photos came out so well, and they did my hair exactly how I wanted!! I asked for natural C-curls in the back without going too overboard, with volume-adding S-curls only in the front. They said, “You seem to like styles that are not too much,” and I thought, wow, they get me right away... haha!!!

They said they personally thought showing my ears would look prettier, so they added and set the volume with that feeling in mind. I loved it so much~~! The hair volume lasted all day, so it held up perfectly for the outdoor shoot!!!

Also, the tone was a little darker than the makeup I usually wear, but the photographer was very experienced. They said outdoor shoots normally need slightly darker makeup so it does not look washed out and photographs beautifully, and that it seemed like they had defined my contours. Maybe that is why the photos really came out well—I was very happy with Cheongdam Shop, haha.

What to bring before visiting a makeup salon

• If you have a reference look or a makeup style you want, it is good to save screenshots beforehand.
