Where is Hwaro Yangmi Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Station Branch?
Hwaro Yangmi Gwanggyo Sanghyeon Station Branch is a lamb BBQ restaurant on the 1st floor of Gwanggyo Advance Hill, near Sanghyeon Station, right on the border between Suwon and Yongin. I found it while searching for a good lamb spot near home, and since there's underground parking with parking support, it was an easy visit.

The restaurant wasn't hard to find, and best of all, there's underground parking with support, which made the visit really convenient.

Does the lamb have any gamey smell?
Hwaro Yangmi apparently only uses lamb under one year old. It was kept chilled in an aging fridge, and maybe that's why — I could eat it cleanly with almost none of the gamey smell lamb usually has!

Seating for group dinners and gatherings
Inside Hwaro Yangmi there's separate group seating too, so I'd recommend it for work dinners or gatherings! While we were eating, neighborhood locals kept coming in — I thought, 'this is definitely a real local favorite' haha.

What comes with the special mixed grill for two?
What I ordered that day was the special mixed grill set (for 2) and egg fried rice.

After ordering, they set out side dishes — cumin salt, wasabi, salt, chili sauce, and more, so you can dip according to your taste! One of the things I liked most about Hwaro Yangmi was the grilling service.

A staff member grilled everything right at the table beside us, explaining as they went, so I didn't have to worry about how done the meat was and could just relax and eat.

Shoulder rack and lamb loin at the table
The first things we tried were the shoulder rack and lamb loin. Lamb can be hit or miss because of its distinct smell, but the meat here had absolutely no gamey odor. The shoulder rack especially melted in my mouth — so delicious. My friend tried it too and said, 'this is on a totally different level from any lamb I've had before.' I've eaten a fair amount of lamb myself, but it had been a while since I had lamb this smell-free and tender, so I was really satisfied.

For the shoulder rack, they wrapped the bone in tissue and set each piece on our plates so they'd be easy to eat one by one. With that kind of attention to detail, I could see why they have so many regulars.

Seasoned mini rib chops
Seasoned mini rib chops. Honestly, seeing them before grilling I didn't expect much, but my eyes went wide the moment I took a bite. The seasoning had soaked in well, salty and full of savory depth — so good!

Finishing with egg fried rice and ice cream
I went back and forth between beef noodle soup and egg fried rice for the meal, and ended up ordering the egg fried rice. The rice was fluffy and had great texture, and paired with the lamb... you already know, right? Haha.

When we finished and were heading out, they even had ice cream ready as a palate cleanser, haha. Parking was easy, the staff grilled the meat for us and were kind throughout, so overall it was a comfortable place to eat. Most of all, seeing so many neighborhood locals coming in while we ate made it clear this is a steadily loved lamb spot in the area. I'd recommend Hwaro Yangmi in Gwanggyo ☺️
