This is a place I go to REALLY often 🐷🤎 This time I tried the pork jowl katsu for the first time and it was so good?? So I rushed over to tell you all about it ➿

Apparently Jeongseong Katsu was originally right behind Nam-Chuncheon Station and expanded/moved to its current location :)

Parking around here is really tough, right...?ㅠㅠ 🚙 But Jeongseong Katsu has free parking in the building! Such a win 😎👍🏻

A spacious interior for solo diners and family meals alike

Super spacious and clean inside! 💗 There are seats good for eating alone and seats good for groups, so no matter who you come with, you're covered ☝🏻 Great for coming with family or coming solo, no pressure either way...♡

Pork jowl katsu set: finished the whole bowl thanks to the curry

I've always ordered the fillet katsu, but this was my first time trying the pork jowl katsu, and the portion was incredibly generous!!! 🫢 ⭐️ At Jeongseong Katsu, ordering the set meal gets you curry alongside it⭐️ At other places I always leave some rice when eating tonkatsu, but here the curry means I always finish my whole bowl!

You can really feel the texture of the pork jowl inside..♡

I already liked pork jowl, but I was worried whether it would still be good fried...? Turns out that worry was pointless ㅠㅠㅠ Springy, chewy, savory — so delicious ㅠㅠㅠ🤎🤎🤎

Pork jowl katsu: the wasabi + salt combo

The pork jowl cut can be a bit rich, so eating it with wasabi is definitely the best way haha. I strongly recommend the ✨wasabi + salt✨ combo for the pork jowl katsu! Eat it with wasabi and it's not the slightest bit greasy all the way to the last bite~

Cold soba + fillet set: 4 pieces of katsu

Next up, the set menu! I ordered a set to wrap up the last of summer with cold soba..★(wistful..)

You know how set menus always come with a really tiny portion of katsu, right????? But Jeongseong Katsu gives you 4 pieces, the same size as what comes with the regular set meal..? At this rate I'll just order the set every time..! 🤤

First bite of soba! Grabbed a huge bunch of noodles and dunked them in the broth. Honestly, since this place is known for katsu, I didn't expect much from the soba, but it was way better than I thought 👍🏻✨ My mom said it tasted better than most dedicated soba places and declared she'd order soba properly(?) next time we come ^^....haha. But it really is that good!!

One drawback

One thing I wish were different: I wish there was more broth ㅠㅠ The broth is so tasty that if you keep scooping it up with the noodles, you run out ㅠㅠㅠ

Fillet katsu: the dish you should eat first

🤎Speechless fillet katsu🤎 Cooked just right, soft and moist — insanely good ㅠㅠㅠ Not the slightest bit dry, seriously the best ㅠㅠ

If you come to Jeongseong Katsu, the fillet katsu is the dish you should try first! Once you try their fillet katsu, you won't be able to eat it anywhere else.

When ordering, the dipping sauce can also be changed to a spicy version, so if you like spicy food, try switching it! No extra cost for changing the sauce 〰️

A clean plate, obviously well eaten ㅎ....ㅎㅎㅎ... Jeongseong Katsu is always delicious every time I go, and the owner is so kind, so it'll keep being a place I visit often. If you want good tonkatsu in Toegye-dong, I recommend Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch!
