2-hour board game & manga room before a game: One Play Jamsil
In short
One Play Jamsil Branch is a multi-culture space near Sports Complex Station in Songpa, Seoul, with manga, board games, OTT, and Nintendo all under one roof. With time to kill before a baseball game, the writer booked a private room on the 2-hour-plus-drink plan, read manga, and ordered fries and sotteok sotteok (rice cake and sausage skewers). A cozy indoor date spot in Jamsil where you can lie down and read comics in comfort.

A Jamsil hangout before the baseball game

Looking for something fun to do in Jamsil, or a date spot? Here's One Play Jamsil Branch, where you can enjoy manga, OTT, Nintendo, and board games all at once!!!
I've been to board game cafés and manga cafés separately before, but this was my first time at a place where you can do everything at once! I had some time to kill before going to watch baseball, so I decided to visit!!! Let's change into indoor slippers and head up to the 3rd floor first!
How much does it cost to use?

Here are the rates. The 1-hour plan is ₩4,000. There are also package plans, so keep that in mind!
We went with 2 hours + drink! We thought we might run a bit over 2 hours, but decided on the 2-hour rate anyway~ We upgraded our drinks — a latte and a strawberry latte. Also, payment is postpaid, so you pay when you leave!

Manga is on the 3rd floor, everything else is on the 2nd floor. And for Nintendo, you have to leave your ID to rent it. There were several kinds of Nintendo too! Both board games and manga need to be put back after use!

Extra orders straight from your room
And this thing they give you is for ordering extra menu items!

You just tap it with your phone like this and it pops up, so you can order right from your room! Wow wow, so convenient! Once you get the pickup alert after ordering, just head to the 3rd floor to pick it up!
3rd floor manga: choosing takes forever

The manga is on the 3rd floor, but you can read it there or take it with you to read elsewhere. Since we were planning to read manga today, we browsed around, but choosing really does take forever... there's even webtoons these days, and also a ton of old-school Japanese manga I used to read. I had no idea what any of them were about so it took ages to pick something...

Here's the info for restrooms and wifi.

After picking out our books, we headed down to the 2nd floor! There's charging available too.
How do you pick a room on the 2nd floor?

You just pick a room! If you want to play Nintendo, there's a Nintendo room, and if you want board games, there's a board game room. Each type of room is separated! Since we were there to read manga, we chose a room with no label on it.
There were soft cushions, and there was a cleaning bell in the room — seems like they come clean if you press it!

There's a wide variety of board games available too! And I thought it would get really loud with people playing games, but it actually wasn't as noisy as I expected!
Fries and sotteok sotteok

Here's what we ordered to eat! You've got to have snacks while you're hanging out, right? We ordered fries and sotteok sotteok (rice cake and sausage skewers).

So how were the manga we borrowed?
Here's the manga we ended up borrowing hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahaha the stories were kind of weird ㅠ my friend read Vampire Knight and I read Beauty Pop — Beauty Pop was about high schoolers being hair designers or something, anyway it was weird ㅠ

So then I read a manga called Scholar Who Walks the Night. This one was made into a drama too, so the story quality is basically guaranteed haha (the drama starring Lee Joon-gi and Choi Kang-chang-min...). It was the most fun, but it goes up to volume 20 so there was no way to finish it in 2 hours. I read fast but still couldn't get through even volume 10 ㅠㅠ Still, I enjoyed it so much lying down comfortably! I want to come back again to keep reading ㅠㅠ
Overall thoughts
One Play Jamsil Branch is the biggest, most comfortable mega multi-culture space in Jamsil! There are thousands of manga volumes, hundreds of board games, plus OTT and Nintendo! I'd recommend it as an indoor date spot for rainy days, hot days, cold days! You can enjoy it with family, friends, a partner, or even by yourself!!
