Busanjin curry restaurant morning deal with shrimp cream curry: Sarugak20

In short

Sarugak20 is a basement Japanese curry restaurant in Busanjin, Busan. I arrived at opening for the 9,000-won morning deal and tried shrimp cream curry and the day’s beef curry in its larger, charming space. Verdict: a great choice for a solo brunch or casual date in Jeonpo.

Sarugak20’s Jeonpo morning deal and what I ordered

I visited Sarugak20 in Jeonpo, Busan. Does everyone remember Moru Restaurant, haha? It’s a curry place I often go to when I’m in Seomyeon, and today I visited its second location.

Because it’s Jeonpo, there didn’t seem to be dedicated parking. Please use a nearby public parking lot, haha.

Sarugak20 menu information

Here’s the menu for reference. They run a morning deal from 10:00 to 11:00, when you can get shrimp cream curry or the curry of the day for ₩9,000, and drinks for ₩2,000! I did an opening run, so I got the morning discount. The curry of the day changes daily, and it was beef curry when I visited, haha.

The atmosphere at Sarugak20, a basement curry restaurant in Jeonpo

This is the exterior. It’s a basement curry restaurant in Jeonpo. There’s a menu board out front, so it would be nice to check the prices and menu before heading in.

The cutest little posters welcome you in. Let’s head down slowly.

You can also take home packaged frozen curry. If you’re eating alone, it seems nice to take some home and thaw one out when you need it. The whole place was decorated in such a cute way.

Inside Sarugak20

This is the inside. It was much more spacious than Moru Restaurant. There’s a good variety of seating, from bar seats to tables for four. It would be really great for dining solo, too.

There are baskets at each seat for your belongings, too. It’s handy when you arrive carrying bags—you can put them down comfortably and enjoy your meal.

The interior is really well decorated. There was so much to look at. They were even selling cute accessories and keychains. There were lots of photo spots as well, so it was great for taking pictures, haha.

Shrimp cream curry and the day’s beef curry

As soon as we ordered, they brought over water and cutlery, along with cola and the juice we ordered. The juice was grapefruit juice, haha.

Our curries arrived. Ahh, don’t they look absolutely delicious? They also serve kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi). The curries looked a little different from those at the first Moru Restaurant location, but these looked seriously appetizing too, haha. You can get refills of both curry and rice if you need more, so just ask a staff member.

The curry of the day: beef curry taste

First up was the beef curry, the curry of the day. It came with a light sprinkling of cheese over the top. It was a very rich-tasting curry.

There was ground beef inside, and it was a little more strongly seasoned than the shrimp cream curry. Mixed through with rice, it was just right, haha.

How was the shrimp cream curry served?

This is the shrimp cream curry I ordered. At Moru Restaurant, the shrimp was included in the curry, but at Sarugak20 it was plated prettily on the outside. The shrimp you could see at a glance looked so appetizing.

The overall flavor was the same as at the first location. That rich shrimp cream flavor is always delicious, no matter when I have it. The lightly spicy cream flavor was so good without becoming tiring. Number one place for never losing its original touch—I’ve been eating it for years and it’s still the same. Seriously delicious ㅠㅠ bb

I only ate a little, but having delicious curry in such a cute, pretty space was healing, haha. It was great for a simple brunch.

Curry plate after the meal

If it had been lunch, I think I would have gotten refills and eaten more, but maybe because it was breakfast... one bowl left me pleasantly full. I scraped the plate clean, haha.

I used to visit Moru Restaurant in Seomyeon now and then, but since its second location, Sarugak20, is in Jeonpo-dong, it was nice to enjoy it there without going all the way to Seomyeon. The shrimp cream curry and curry of the day were both truly enjoyable in their own different ways, haha. I recommend it for a Jeonpo-dong date, too! I recommend it to everyone looking for a restaurant with a great Jeonpo-dong atmosphere, a place to eat alone, or somewhere for a simple meal!
