Gwangalli izakaya with a first-customer prize draw: Ganppa Beer
In short
Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is a standing izakaya with no chairs, a one-minute walk from Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan. Walking in as the first customer of the night, the writer ordered Sapporo draft beer at 8,900 won and Osaka chicken at 9,900 won, then won fried chicken skin, ikasomen (squid noodles) and ice cream through the bar's prize draw, 5-second speed-drinking and keg-change rock-paper-scissors games. The draft beer at Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 goes down smooth rather than sharp, making it an easy pick for solo drinking or a second-round bar.

Today I want to introduce the place with the freshest, tastiest draft beer among Gwangalli bars — Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2.
Where is Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2, and is there parking?
Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is a bar on Gwangan-ro 62beon-gil in Suyeong-gu, Busan, right near Gwangalli Beach. It's about a 10-minute walk from Gwangan Station (Line 2) toward Gwangalli Beach, and just 1 minute from the shoreline.

Since it's a bar, there's no dedicated parking lot, so keep in mind you'll need to use a nearby public or paid parking lot!

It's open daily from 18:00 to 02:00 the next day, no break time, with last order at 01:00. There are also birthday perks, free Wi-Fi, a no-kids zone, and you can pay with local currency, Zero Pay, or easy pay.
What a standing bar with no chairs feels like

Here's a look inside Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2, the Gwangalli bar known for its delicious draft beer.

We showed up right at opening and were the very first customers to walk in — the inside turned out to be pretty spacious.
The interior felt super hip and stylish, yet also cozy.
It really feels like you could get a great shot from any angle! The lighting is soft and flattering too, so if you visit, definitely take a photo with your beer — haha!

One unique thing about Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is that it's a Gwangalli second-round bar where you stand to drink — no chairs at all.

Surprisingly, standing up somehow made me feel less drunk, and it was great for a light drink.

The place has a really lively energy, and the staff keep things fun and friendly whether you come alone or in a group — so anyone looking for a good Gwangalli spot for solo drinking should feel free to stop by without hesitation.
There's even a guestbook you can doodle in if you get bored.
Ganppa Beer menu and prices

Here's the menu at Ganppa Beer, the Gwangalli bar famous for its draft beer. The system is to order and pay at the entrance, then move to your table.

Since this Gwangalli bar is known for its draft beer, the signature menu items are Sapporo and Ebisu draft.

The side dishes come in reasonable portions, good for ordering solo, and also good for a second or third round even if you're already full. But it's not just light bites — there's also yakisoba, Napolitan pasta, ramen, gyoza, tebasaki (fried chicken wings) and more substantial dishes, so it works fine as a first stop too. The set menus are well put together as well.
If you're full, you can just order beer without any side dishes. No need to order food you're too full to eat — great value for money!
How the Sapporo draft beer and Osaka chicken taste
Once you order, they pour a fresh draft straight from the tap right away.
- Sapporo draft beer ₩8,900
- Ebisu draft beer ₩11,900
I'm not totally sure why, but maybe because they let plenty of foam run off while pouring from the tap, the beer went down smoothly rather than with a sharp, throat-stinging fizz — I really loved that. The freshness of the draft came through clearly too.
- Osaka chicken ₩9,900
This is chicken made with a special tare sauce the owner learned in Osaka.
The sweet-and-salty appeal of Ganppa's signature Osaka chicken kept my chopsticks reaching for more.
The chicken, coated in batter that was crispy yet somehow chewy, was the perfect side dish.
The beer alone went down so easily I lost count of how many glasses I had — haha! It really was smooth rather than sharp.

The prize draw and 5-second beer speed-drinking game
At other Gwangalli bars, even when they run events, it's usually something quiet and solo, like a review event. But Ganppa Beer had a whole bunch of fun, wonderfully rowdy(?) events lined up.

There was a lucky draw, taking a photo with a staff member, drinking a beer in 5 seconds flat, and a rock-paper-scissors game whenever they change a keg — it was seriously so much fun, you have no idea...!

Lately I've been living a pretty restrained life with not much fun going on, but today I had such a great time it almost felt like my birthday.
And of course, you won't regret coming here just for the beer alone!

Between the fried chicken skin, ikasomen (squid noodle-style dish), and ice cream we got as sides, we somehow ended up receiving more free stuff than what we actually ordered...
Is Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 worth a visit?
A place where you get delicious draft beer, compliments, and a good rest, with nothing to lose but money — haha! I recommend Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 as a great Gwangalli second-round bar, and a solid pick for solo drinking too ♡
