A place worth visiting in Busan's Gwangalli — a bar collaborating with Sapporo.
After dinner in Gwangalli, sometimes you're already full but not quite ready to head home. That's when you want a Gwangalli second-round bar for something light — a cold draft beer instead of heavy food. This time I visited Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2, in Gwangan-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan.
The biggest difference from a typical bar: it's a standing beer bar! Not a place to sit for hours, but a place to enjoy beer and snacks on your feet. It felt unfamiliar at first, but once inside the vibe was lively and fun. They serve both Sapporo draft and Ebisu draft, so I ordered both to compare. Here's the review.
Where is Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2, and what are its hours?
Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is located at 1F 101, 10 Gwangan-ro 62beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan (Gwangan-dong 191-1), South Korea, open daily until 2am. Hours are 18:00–02:00, with last order at 01:00.
It's easy to find heading from Gwangan Station toward Gwangalli Beach — about 593m, roughly 9 minutes on foot from Exit 3. A solid stop when you're looking for a second-round bar in Gwangalli after dinner.
To get there, get off at Gwangan Station and head toward Gwangalli Beach. There are so many bars and restaurants in the Gwangalli area, so if it's your first visit, it's easiest to search 'Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2' on a map app haha. One thing to note — Ganppa Beer has both a location 1 and location 2 in the Gwangalli area, so make sure you check which branch you're heading to.

A standing beer bar you rarely see in Gwangalli
The biggest feature of Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is that it's a standing bar. Usually a bar makes you think of tables and chairs, but here it's different — you order beer and drink standing up.
At first I wondered, 'Wouldn't standing to drink beer be uncomfortable?' but once I was there it was better than expected. People chatting freely on their feet, the open kitchen making snacks — the whole place felt very lively.
The vibe suits a day when you want a light beer with friends or a partner more than a quiet, calm bar. Especially if you're already full from your first meal, having a beer standing up beats sitting down for another heavy dish.
How Ganppa Beer manages its draft beer: 24-hour keg cut and pre-rinsing
Search for Ganppa Beer and the thing that stands out most is the draft beer story haha. This place runs as an official collaboration store with Sapporo, and introduces several methods for keeping the draft beer fresh. There are a few points they emphasize in particular.

- ① 24-hour cut — the keg, once opened, is meant to be finished within 24 hours, the idea being to keep it fresh by going through it quickly.
- ② Short pour lines — keeping the line from keg to tap short to preserve the beer's freshness.
- ③ Dedicated ultra-thin glasses — directly imported from Japan. Since glass thickness can affect how the beer tastes, it was clear they pay attention to this detail too.
- ④ Cold storage — kegs are kept in a dedicated fridge to maintain the right temperature.
- ⑤ Pre-rinsing — glasses are rinsed in 0°C ice water before pouring.
After going through this process before the beer is poured, it felt like more care goes into making a single glass than just 'ordering a draft beer.'
The exterior of Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2
Even from outside, the vibe was different from a typical Korean pub. The sign and exterior have a Japanese izakaya feel, so it stands out even if you're just passing through the Gwangalli alleys.

And Ganppa Beer puts its Sapporo collaboration front and center, so if you like beer, it's a place that would pique your curiosity. That day I visited mostly curious about the draft beer over other drinks.

There are tables outside too, round ones. Looks like you can drink standing freely outside as well!
There's a Catch Table tablet in front of the store where you can check if there's a wait and register right away!
Inside: mostly standing room and an open kitchen
Once inside, the space is built around standing. There are square tables and round tables haha.

The kitchen is open. It's not fully hidden, so you can watch the staff cooking and pouring draft beer ☺️

Ordering at Ganppa Beer: choose first, then prepay
📝 Once you're in, you get a menu first. Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 runs on a prepay system.

This is the menu! When you walk in, a staff member asks how many people and hands you the menu haha, then explains the ordering process — choose, then prepay. So you pick from the menu, order, and pay upfront. After paying, you head to your assigned table and get your order there!

There's storage space under the table for your bags.

What we ordered at Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2

- 1 Ebisu draft beer
- 1 Sapporo draft beer
- 1 Ganppa special tebasaki
Since I like beer, I wanted to compare the two drafts, and for a snack I chose tebasaki since it seemed like it would pair well. From what's currently listed, Ebisu draft, Sapporo draft, and Ganppa special tebasaki show up as the signature menu items.

Ebisu draft beer (11,900 won): soft, creamy foam
I started with the Ebisu draft. Switching back and forth between the two, Ebisu definitely felt softer to me. The foam in particular was quite rich.
It wasn't just that a lot of foam rose up — the soft foam hit my mouth first on the first sip, rounding out the beer flavor. The foam even looks like whipped cream, doesn't it? If you like a soft, creamy draft beer, Ebisu will probably suit you better.
Sapporo draft beer (8,900 won): clean and crisp
Next, the Sapporo draft. Compared to Ebisu, it felt relatively clean. Switching between the two at the same table, the difference was clear. Ebisu leaned toward rich foam and softness, while Sapporo was refreshing and clean, easy to drink.
So if you're picking one: soft foam and rich texture → Ebisu, clean and refreshing → Sapporo. Go with whichever matches your preference.

Ebisu vs Sapporo draft: which one tasted better?
We ordered both to compare, and personally, I liked Sapporo more haha. It felt cleaner, so if I wanted to drink several glasses lightly, I'd go with this one. If you like draft beer, I'd recommend ordering both to compare — tasting two beers managed at the same bar side by side made the difference much easier to notice haha.

Ganppa special tebasaki (9,900 won)
Since beer alone felt like something was missing, we also ordered the Ganppa special tebasaki. Tebasaki is a Japanese-style chicken wing dish that pairs well with beer, and Ganppa Beer sells it as a signature snack.

Cabbage salad also came with the tebasaki, which was good to eat between the salty bites of chicken. Since this is a standing beer bar, it seems best to pick snacks that are light rather than too heavy, to enjoy alongside the beer.
The review event lucky draw at Ganppa Beer
Something that turned out more fun than expected was the review event lucky draw haha. The table in front of us drew, the table next to us drew, the table behind us drew, so I naturally ended up watching — and oddly, everyone kept getting 4th place. The 4th place prize was a Sapporo draft beer, so we tried it too, and we got 5th place lol.

Guess we had no luck that day 🥹 The 5th place prize let you choose between a ₩1,000 voucher or a Polaroid photo. Seems you can take the Polaroid photo right there lol.
We picked the ₩1,000 voucher, but the staff said that wasn't the end of it lol — win a round of rock-paper-scissors and you could double the amount. So we tried it! I won the first round, doubling it to ₩2,000, but the second round was a tie, so it went back down to ₩0. Still, these little events made for a laugh in the middle of drinking, so it was fun.
Final verdict: an easy round two in Gwangalli
The biggest strength of Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2, to me, is that it's easy to stop by for round two. If you're already full from your first meal, sitting down for another heavy snack can feel like a lot. But here, since it's a standing format, ordering just a beer and a light snack doesn't feel out of place at all.
The atmosphere itself is lively enough that you don't need to stay long to enjoy it. If you're looking for a second-round bar in Gwangalli, give Ganppa Beer 2 a try. The main branch's wait might be no joke lol.
