Gimhae sushi restaurant with high chairs for babies: Sushi Hwa

Today I'm writing about a flame-seared sushi restaurant my husband and I visited, called 'Sushi Hwa.' Shall we go together? 💨

It's located on Bongridan-gil in Gimhae, so we drove about 30 minutes from home to get there 🚘

What Sushi Hwa is like on a weekday afternoon

We went at almost 2pm on a Monday, just past the lunch rush. Maybe because of that, we were the only ones in the restaurant when we arrived, so we could take our time picking a seat. After that two more parties came in, and delivery orders kept coming too!

⏰ Hours Daily 10:00–21:00 Last order 20:40 (hours are per Naver Map) There's a slight difference from the hours posted on the restaurant door. + They plan to stay open through Korean holidays too, so feel free to visit with family.

Being on Bongridan-gil, the place is full of that Bongridan-gil vibe ♡ The weather was nice, so the sunlight coming under the tent made the mood even warmer ☀️💛 When it gets a bit cooler than now, I want to try eating outside 🍽️

Where to park at Sushi Hwa in Gimhae

🅿️ Parking There's parking right in front of the restaurant, but the space is on the small side. I'd recommend parking comfortably at a nearby public lot and walking over!

Sushi Hwa seating: solo counter, group seats and high chairs

The restaurant is nicely set up for solo diners, families, and groups alike. The kitchen is open, so you can watch the owner carefully making the sushi right in front of you.

Behind a partition there's a separate group seating area. There's no private room, but the space is cleanly divided, so it seemed like a decent spot for group gatherings too!

It's also great for eating alone comfortably, so it's a good choice for fellow solo diners like me.

The whole restaurant had a warm feeling thanks to the wood interior.

They also have high chairs, so it would be great to come with a baby too !! 👶🏻

The restroom is outside the restaurant, split by gender, and kept very clean.

What comes in the 38,000 won flame-seared sushi set at Sushi Hwa

🏷️ Menu There are so many menu items that there's a huge range of choices. (I'll include a photo of the full menu board uploaded on Naver Map!)

What we ordered was the 'Sushi Hwa flame-seared sushi set' (₩38,000).

The set comes with 27 pieces of sushi (Bongridan-gil's real deal..!!) and the smoky flame flavor was seriously incredible. Everything was delicious, but out of all of it, the egg sushi........ I never knew egg sushi could taste this good 🥹

It comes with 2 salads + 2 cold soba. You can choose udon or soba, and we ordered cold soba !!

Is 27 pieces of sushi enough for two people?

I thought two of us would end up super full !! but my husband eats so much that he said it was a little on the light side for him. But after a few pieces of sushi, I was already full 😊 It might not be quite enough for two big eaters, so I'd recommend ordering extra salmon sushi !! ⭐️

Next time I visit, I want to try ordering extra salmon sushi too 🍣
