Jinju cold noodle restaurant with no wait at 11am open: Songgiwon
In short
Songgiwon Jinju Naengmyeon Direct Store is a Jinju naengmyeon (cold noodle) restaurant on Cheonsu-ro in Gyeongnam. Told the queue gets long, two of us arrived for the 11am opening and ordered all three noodles — Sunjo 1800 (mul-naengmyeon, ₩13,000), Nongae 1593 (bibim-naengmyeon, ₩13,000) and the signature Songgiwon 1997 (mixed bibim-naengmyeon, ₩14,000) — plus ₩25,000 ujeon Korean beef yukjeon (pan-fried beef). Arrive at opening and you are seated with no wait; for smaller appetites, the signature mixed naengmyeon with yukjeon was the most satisfying pairing.

Summer's almost over but it's still so hot during the day 🥵 Times like this always make me crave cold noodles, so my boyfriend and I headed to Songgiwon, famous for Jinju-style naengmyeon 😊
Where is Songgiwon Jinju Naengmyeon, and what are its hours?
- Address: 49-1 Cheonsu-ro, Jinju, Gyeongnam, South Korea
- Hours: Daily 11am–9pm (break time 4pm–5pm)
- Closed: Every Tuesday

Arriving at the 11am opening to skip the wait
Songgiwon Jinju Naengmyeon Direct Store opens at 11am, and we timed our arrival exactly then so we could sit without waiting. My boyfriend said this place gets so popular the wait can be brutal! So we basically sprinted to make the 11am opening haha.

Living up to its reputation, the parking lot is spacious too.

Luckily we got there early and walked right in — the place was bigger than I expected too!!

Overall it felt clean but still had that classic, old-school naengmyeon restaurant charm.

There were even waiting chairs.

Ooh... a Korean Culinary Master certification on display? Now I'm even more excited.

Songgiwon Jinju Naengmyeon menu and prices
The Jinju naengmyeon menu is simpler than I expected — just three types of cold noodles.
- Sunjo 1800: ₩13,000
- Nongae 1593: ₩13,000
- Songgiwon 1997: ₩14,000
In simple terms, Sunjo is the mul-naengmyeon (cold broth noodles), Nongae is the bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed noodles), and Songgiwon is the signature mixed bibim-naengmyeon 🩷 Plus we added the ₩25,000 Korean beef yukjeon (pan-fried beef)!

Warm beef broth and the self bar served first
Not long after ordering, they brought out the side dishes and a warm broth first — and this warm broth was genuinely delicious. I took a sip and the savory depth was so strong that we both said, 'if the warm broth is this good, the noodles must be amazing too,' and waited eagerly ❤️

There's a self bar too, so you can just grab extra side dishes or broth yourself!

The food came out maybe 5 minutes after ordering? Impressively fast 👏🏻

What does Sunjo 1800 mul-naengmyeon taste like?
First up, Sunjo 1800 is basically mul-naengmyeon.
The broth is clean but savory, the kind of broth you keep scooping up spoon after spoon haha.
It wasn't punchy or intense — more about the subtle depth of the broth itself. I actually usually prefer milmyeon over naengmyeon so I didn't expect much, but I was surprised how good it was!!

Nongae 1593 bibim-naengmyeon and its spicy sauce
Nongae 1593 is the bibim-naengmyeon! If Sunjo is all about the clean broth, Nongae is a completely different story with the sauce — tangy, spicy seasoning that clings to the noodles perfectly and wakes up your appetite!!

They mixed it thoroughly with some added vinegar and mustard.

Eating it with the yukjeon is next level 😊 If you love bibim-naengmyeon, you're going to love this one!!
The signature Songgiwon 1997 mixed bibim-naengmyeon
And then, the one with a name that already sounds like the signature dish — Songgiwon 1997!
This isn't just bibim-naengmyeon, it's the signature mixed bibim-naengmyeon! It's SERIOUSLY good 🥹

Eating it with the yukjeon and the radish side dish is heaven... hands down number one. It's made with seafood broth plus a special sauce, genuinely deserving of the 'signature' title. Please, please try this one 👏🏻

How much beef comes in the ₩25,000 yukjeon?
And the thing I really didn't expect — the ujeon hanwoo yukjeon (Korean beef pan-fried beef). At ₩25,000 I thought it might be a bit pricey for a side dish at a naengmyeon restaurant, but the portion was seriously huge, I was shocked... can you see the size?? Haha.
It was cut into neat, easy-to-eat pieces, and as a side dish for two people eating naengmyeon it was an absurdly generous amount — great for sharing if you come with a bigger group too!!

Since it's Korean beef, it was tender, and dipping it in the accompanying sauce was incredibly good too.. ❤️

Honestly with the portion that big, I figured we'd have to take some home haha, but it was so good we finished it all even while stuffed haha haha haha.

Pairing the savory yukjeon with the naengmyeon was a better combo than I expected. When you're eating naengmyeon alone for a while and then throw in a piece of yukjeon, it's a whole different feeling — I was glad we ordered it alongside the noodles 😆 After trying everything, I get why this place is so famous for Jinju naengmyeon...?

What to order at Songgiwon when there are two of you
Honestly, I'm more of a milmyeon person than a naengmyeon person, so I went in with low expectations but ended up enjoying it way more than I thought. If you have a smaller appetite, go for the signature + yukjeon combo! You won't regret it ❤️
