Cheoin-gu Korean buffet in Yongin: ₩9,000 kimchi fried rice at Daedong

I went out to the Cheoin-gu area of Yongin after a while and stumbled onto a really good Korean buffet. It's rare to find a place that nails both value and taste, so I'm happy to write this one up. 😄

Where Daedong Korean Buffet & Dosirak is in Yangji-eup, Yongin

Daedong Korean Buffet & Dosirak is located at Jubuk-ri 945, Yangji-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Daedong Korean Buffet has a spacious lot in front that fits around 50 cars, so getting there and parking is easy.

Inside Daedong: window seats made for solo dining

True to its size, the seating area was very spacious and clean. The tables were big and roomy too, making it comfortable to eat. 👍

There are also seats where you can eat while looking out the window, which looked great for solo dining.

Price: ₩9,000 for adults, ₩5,000 for preschoolers

The amazing thing is the price — value for money overflowing! I kept double-checking whether this was really a 2026 price, haha.

₩9,000 for adults, ₩5,000 for preschoolers, and free under age 3 😍 These days even a bowl of soup out costs well over ₩10,000, and here's a full Korean buffet for just ₩9,000...!! No wonder it's known as a must-visit buffet in Cheoin-gu, Yongin 😊 On top of that, you can check the weekly menu on Daedong Korean Buffet's Naver homepage or blog.

Getting to try a rotating variety of menus every morning and lunch at such a low price... honestly, I wanted to come back every day. 😆

What's on the buffet line at Daedong

After settling in, we headed straight to pick out food. A nice touch is that there are kids' trays as well as square and round trays to choose from.

True to being a Korean buffet, there was an incredible spread of dishes 😍 Just looking at it put me in a good mood, and I started happily agonizing over what to eat, haha.

There's kimchi fried rice, but also plain steamed rice, so you can go either way.

There's japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), which I love, and crisp, tasty mung bean sprout stir-fry too.

And on top of that!! Whenever a dish runs low, staff refill it with something new each time 👍 This time, sausage stir-fry came out — a favorite of mine and the kids — and I silently cheered 'yes!' inside, haha 😆

On one side there are basic vegetables and small plates you can use.

There was also a tasty dessert rice cake filled with sweet red bean paste that bursts when you bite it. I ate it after my meal and it was so sweet I went back for more 👍

For noodle lovers, there's also janchi-guksu (banquet noodle soup) available. I was too full to try it, but my noodle-loving husband ate it very happily, haha.

There's even a spot where ramen lovers can boil their own. True to being a large buffet, the menu is so varied that deciding what to eat becomes a happy struggle. 😍

My plate: kimchi fried rice and pork bulgogi

What I picked was kimchi fried rice, tteokbokki, pork bulgogi, mung bean sprouts, chicken mandu, and gochu (shishito-style peppers). Everything felt made with real care — you could taste the homemade touch and the deep savory flavor was unmistakable. Getting to try so many dishes at once made it a genuinely satisfying meal 👍 And then, for dessert...

I finished off with house-made sikhye, which made it even sweeter. Honestly, I'm not usually a fan of sikhye, but this was so refreshing and delicious that I had it twice 😄 Being homemade, it had a clean, mellow sweetness on a completely different level from the sikhye you buy at the supermarket. I really recommend trying the sikhye here 👍

Who Daedong Korean Buffet suits best

I was surprised that Korean food made fresh daily could be this good value. With grocery prices so high these days, even eating at home adds up in food costs — I found myself thinking that if I lived nearby, I'd want to eat at Daedong Korean Buffet every day 😊

And because it's a buffet, it can suit all kinds of tastes, which also makes it a great choice for eating out with kids. If you're ever in the Cheoin-gu area of Yongin, I recommend Daedong Korean Buffet & Dosirak 👍
