Why we picked Yun Ujae among Suji restaurants
A1. While planning a drive-and-outing trip toward Yongin, I searched hard for Yongin restaurants and Suji restaurants, and one place kept coming up as a recommendation — Yun Ujae Gogi-ri Shabu Kalguksu! Famous places are famous for a reason, so we drove straight over 🚗💨
A2. I couldn't resist the combination of fresh S-grade beef and house-made kalguksu noodles 😍
A3. I always think the 'freshly seasoned kimchi' is the real core of any kalguksu restaurant!! Hearing it's made using a Mokpo kimchi master's recipe, I visited with high expectations.
Parking and the dining room at Yun Ujae

The parking area was really well set up — perfect for a family meal out or a weekend drive destination! !!!

The moment we walked in, the neatly organized interior put us in a great mood — genuinely, genuinely clean and comfortable 👍🏻 For anyone looking for a Suji shabu-shabu spot, it passes on cleanliness too ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stamped ❗️

Near the entrance there's a flour display like this haha

The kimchi was good too, but the seokbakji (diced radish kimchi) was so tasty! A perfect match with shabu-shabu and kalguksu

And Yun Ujae Shabu Shabu has a signature menu item — 'crispy seafood pajeon' (seafood pancake). The pajeon is quite generous in portion. So if you have leftovers, they even provide containers so you can pack it up yourself. The best!!! 👏🏻
What we ordered and how to choose your broth
You can choose between white broth or red broth, and pick from 3 spice levels: mild, medium, or spicy!
~ What we ordered ~ Shabu-kalguksu — red broth (spicy) for two, crispy seafood pajeon
Honest review of the spicy red broth shabu-kalguksu at 11,500 won per person

There were two of us, so we ordered for two, and we thought our stomachs would burst. This much food for ₩11,500 per person...!

The broth is tangy and spicy in the best way. Not painfully spicy — just the perfect amount of kick! It's loaded with minari (water dropwort) and mushrooms.

Australian S-grade beef with zero gamey smell! 🥩 The meat was seriously x10 fresh, and dipping it in the broth made it melt in your mouth. We thought about ordering more beef, but with the pajeon too, the portion was already so much that we held back 🤣 That's how good the beef was.

House-made kalguksu noodles and wide flat noodles
The highlight of this place — house-made noodles! Kneaded and cut fresh at the restaurant, they were chewy yet soft! Not the cheap kind that breaks apart dryly.
They give you two kinds of noodles — regular kalguksu noodles and flat kalguksu noodles — and they tell you to boil the flat noodles in the broth for 2 minutes, then wrap them with the vegetables and meat like a wrap. Chewy, crunchy 👏🏻, so good!!

This is exactly the kind of kalguksu noodle I really love! Even if you're full, be sure to boil the kalguksu noodles and eat them! !! hahahahahaha

The dipping sauce combination that made the meal
The sauces were a fun surprise!

Mix soy sauce + chili + wasabi soy sauce and dip the shabu-shabu ingredients in it, and pair soy sauce + onion with the plump seafood-packed pajeon — pure honey

Finishing with fried rice in the broth
We were already on the verge of bursting... but we couldn't skip the fried rice ㅠ Nutty and lightly seasoned — so good! Even full, my spoon kept going back ㅠㅠ Knowing I'd be craving it 100% once I got home, I just kept eating...

My husband and I really love shabu-shabu and have tried a lot of places, and out of all of them, this one is truly unbeatable value! Prices are low but ingredient quality is high, which made it so satisfying. You could feel the care put into every single ingredient. I understood why so many people come here..! Price, taste, and ingredient quality — all fully satisfying
How was the signature crispy seafood pajeon?

How could I not try the signature menu item? Ordered it immediately 💨

You can even feel the crispiness from the photo! It's packed with plump shrimp and squid.
If you visit Yun Ujae, definitely try the seafood pajeon too. It's really substantial ☺️ Sometimes when you order seafood pajeon it's overpriced and skimpy or paper-thin, over after a few bites, but Yun Ujae's pajeon is worth every won.

Final verdict on Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu
The ingredient quality, flavor, and portion size were all excellent for the price, making this a place with both great value and great satisfaction :) The whole time we were eating, I kept thinking, 'I have to bring the family here again!' A truly satisfying spot 👍🏻 I honestly hope they open a directly-run branch in Seoul someday! ❤️
