Yukhoe and window-view room date at Damso Main Branch, Yangsan
In short
Damso Main Branch is an all-private-room Korean beef charcoal grill restaurant on the 8th floor of a commercial building in Dongmyeon, Yangsan, Gyeongnam. On a 100% reservation-only visit, a couple enjoyed a window room with night views, ordering yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and Combo A and B to grill cut by cut — tosi, anchang, chaekkeut, eopjin, and deungsim — with the ball-shaped yukhoe served thick like yuk-sashimi. It's a private Korean beef spot equally good for a couple's date or a family dinner with parents.

One thing I always notice when I come down to Yangsan is how good the beef is⭐️ Something feels fresher (?) — I'm not sure, but Gyeongnam must really know its livestock. I don't have the knowledge, but I definitely have the taste buds✌️
This time I came to Yangsan again and had a date with my husband at a Korean beef restaurant💕 It's an all-private-room restaurant, so it seemed super popular for events, company dinners, gatherings, meetings. My clothes barely smell like smoke afterward, and I really love being able to eat great meat this comfortably😆
Damso Main Branch hours and parking
- Hours: Daily 4:00pm–9:40pm
- Parking: Free parking available🙆♀️ (3 hours in the building)
It's located on the 8th floor of a clean commercial building. I mostly drive around when I'm in Yangsan, so the 3-hour free parking in the building was a huge plus👍🏻
Take the elevator up to the 8th floor. Turn right right after getting off the elevator and you'll find Damso's entrance. I love the entrance — the lighting pairs so warmly with the wine bottles💡
The exterior has a bit of a Japanese-restaurant feel. Clean and simple, the kind of style everyone would like.
All private rooms, a window room with night views
Once you open the door, you see a meat-aging chamber and an open kitchen. That transparency really builds trust🧑🍳 Every room is closed off with a sliding door, so there's zero chance of running into or feeling awkward around other guests👀
Since it's 100% reservation-only, we booked ahead. The room we were shown to today was a window-view room with a sparkling night view🌃
From the moment you step in, you feel like you're being treated to something special!! It's the perfect atmosphere to bring your parents or a mentor✨
Menu layout
The menu is framed on the wall in each room. Big, clear lettering that's easy to read.

- Additional cuts: Deungsim, Anshim, Salchi, Tosi, Anchang
- Appetizers: Yukhoe, Yuk-sashimi, Half-half
- Meals: Korean beef doenjang jjigae, doenjang ramen, rice, naengmyeon
What we ordered — 1. Combo A 2. Combo B 3. Yukhoe

The side dishes were already set on the table before we ordered. There was a pair of tongs set for each of us too, one per person. It's clean and the service is great — this feels like the kind of place your parents would love for a birthday or anniversary🎂

Wrap greens, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), garlic, ssamjang, peppers, cucumber pickles, chive pickles, onion sauce, salt.
If you need extra wet wipes or utensils, there's a table drawer for that. The staff call bell is stuck right next to the drawer🛎️
Yukhoe rolled up like a ball
This is the first time I've seen yukhoe rolled into a round ball shape. But the visual was so good, I was genuinely surprised💯
The staff pour the sauce directly over the yukhoe. It's a sweetish soy sauce, and my husband loved it. I personally prefer spicy yukhoe^^
It looks like some kind of elaborate dish, right? I usually love yukhoe and judge it pretty critically, so I was excited to dig in with high expectations👅 They say it tastes better dipped lightly into the sauce rather than mixed all through it.

Eaten together with the pear underneath, wow — this beef is really fresh. Thick, great texture, amazing❤️ This felt less like yukhoe and more like eating yuk-sashimi.

I love that it wasn't sliced thin. Big chunks that fill your mouth with a chewy, satisfying bite. Better than any yukhoe I've had lately. Total love at first bite..🥰
We looked ready to finish it all before the grilled meat even arrived haha.
I also tried it dipped in just plain salt, no sauce — oh, this is genuinely special too🌟 This is what good beef tastes like.

Combo A and B, grilled cut by cut over charcoal
Now it's time for the grilled cuts. Well-stoked charcoal comes in first🔥 and in walks gorgeous 1++ grade Korean beef🥇

Left is A, right is B. It's great that two people can each order a different combo and enjoy a wider variety of cuts🙌🏻 Combo A is anchang, eopjin, deungsim; Combo B is tosi, anchang, salchi.

Let's start with tosi and anchang. The color of this meat is unbelievable.

Placed alongside the firm grilling vegetables, it looks like a colorful painting🎨 Everyone knows beef tastes best flipped just once on each side, right?! You have to stay focused💭
My husband was cutting it up nicely. Honestly it's so easy when someone else grills pork for you, but beef cooks so fast that speed matters.. sometimes it's easier when the person eating does the grilling themselves👀

Pink in the middle, crisp on the outside — this medium-rare is the best🤤

So much juice packed in, the moment it hits your mouth you just gasp🤩

The closer it gets, the better it looks.. showing off the full glory of 1++ Korean beef.
Paired with salt, pickled peppers, and onion sauce
Dipping it plain in salt is truly the way🧂 When you want a little more saltiness, pairing it with pickled peppers cleans your palate and lets a pleasant spiciness spread🌶️
The onion in the onion sauce is sliced super thin, so it pairs softly and really nicely🧅 We also tried a combination we'd never tried before — dipping it in makjang (spicy fermented paste) — and honestly, that worked surprisingly well too haha.
Chaekkeut (striploin)
What's this now~~ Chaekkeut💝 The marbling is gorgeous, truly alive. This one you flip only once and pop straight into your mouth👄
Wow.. this is insane. Seriously, it just coats your mouth in fat. This one absolutely has to be dipped in salt. Korean beef chaekkeut grilled properly over charcoal is the best.
Feels like we've already eaten a ton, but Combo B is only just getting started🤣 It really hit me how good the value is here. In Seoul, this much food would already have wrapped things up.
Grilled vegetables for a break in between
While waiting for the next batch of meat, let's tackle the well-grilled potato🥔

Dipping the potato in ssamjang is genuinely delicious.

I'll dip the mushrooms and sweet pumpkin in ssamjang too. Eating vegetables warms you right up🍄
Finishing with eopjin and deungsim
Time for the second round. More anchang comes out, and this is the moment eopjin makes its first appearance⚡️ I love eopjin😻
Right when things start feeling a bit rich, the chive pickles help freshen things up. Not too salty, well-seasoned😛
We finish with deungsim (ribeye)🥩 We're so full today we'll probably skip the meal course and just fill up on meat.

Deungsim really is the flower of grilling🌹 It would feel like something's missing without it. A savory, deeply umami cut that can never be skipped from a beef combo.

My husband and I were such happy people that day. On a date in a private room, we enjoyed high-quality 1++ Korean beef, cut by cut. Tender, savory, juicy,

I let my husband have the last piece. But I'm so full right now. It's been a while since I've eaten Korean beef this freely, this much🥳
