I finally got to eat my favorite kind of food — Western food. I don't know why I love pasta so much. I love flour, I love sauces, maybe that's exactly why I love Western food even more. When it comes to Western food in Songdo, Pohang, you really can't skip Plan A Restaurant. I visited here N years ago, and this time, for Chuseok, I revisited with my whole family~~

Where is Plan A Restaurant in Songdo, Pohang?

Plan A Restaurant, a Songdo, Pohang go-to, is located across from Songdo Beach, near Starbucks and Hound Hotel.

It's on the 4th floor of this building, and there's an elevator so you can go up comfortably.

Inside Plan A Restaurant: floor-to-ceiling ocean-view seats

Walking inside — wow. The ocean view is no joke. Thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, the view is wide open and the ocean really comes through. It looks like such a great spot for a date too..!!

We took a table with a proper view of the ocean.

We came for an early dinner, but there were already people there having gatherings.

The dishes came out one by one as they were ready, and the salad arrived first.

The burrata cheese salad for my mom came out with bread on the side, and the bread was warm, which made it great to eat together with the salad and cheese.

My mom loves cheese, and this was her first time trying burrata, so she said it was fascinating. It wasn't too salty, so she enjoyed it a lot. The vegetables in the salad were fresh with a nice crunch, and the combination of sauce and bread was amazing. Great looking and great tasting — the whole package.

Is the truffle aglio olio too spicy for the spice-shy?

There were so many types of pasta that I spent ages deciding. I ordered the truffle aglio olio and it turned out to be a very good choice.

The noodles were cooked just right, and it said 'slightly spicy' on the menu, but even people who can't handle spice can enjoy this comfortably. There was a subtle truffle aroma, and honestly this disappeared in an instant.. haha

Beef pilaf, the signature dish with meltingly tender chunks of beef

And another dish we really enjoyed was the beef pilaf.

I didn't expect the beef to come in such big chunks. I figured the meat would be chewy so I hesitated a bit before ordering, but no — the meat just melts in your mouth. Such a big chunk of meat, and yet so tender! There's a reason it's the signature dish. There was zero gamey smell, and the portion was generous — we ate until we were completely full.

How many dishes should three people order at Plan A Restaurant?

If three people go, ordering one dish each might be a touch small. We'd had a snack before coming, so the three of us ordered just three dishes — but on a normal day, even two of us probably would have eaten all three dishes. It's not that the portions are small, it's that it's so tasty you keep eating.

Just like that, we cleared everything we ordered in no time, all while properly enjoying the ocean view. It had been a while since my last visit, and it was still exactly the Songdo, Pohang restaurant it's known to be — perfect from the visuals to the taste..!! Great view, great food, perfect for a date too! If you're looking for a good pasta restaurant in Pohang, highly recommend!! Make sure to try the pilaf too!
