Today I'm bringing you a visit to Plan A Restaurant, a Western restaurant near Songdo Beach in Pohang that's well known as a must-visit spot. Among locals, it's already famous as a date-course place or somewhere to go when you want a bit of atmosphere!

The restaurant is on the 4th floor of the building with the GS25 right in front of Songdo Beach. As soon as you ride the elevator up to the 4th floor, the open sea view unfolds right in front of you — the height is just right, so the whole beach view feels even more expansive.

There's parking along the main road in front of the store, but it's a bit tight, and there's actually a free parking lot behind the store. It's fairly large and just a 3-minute walk from the restaurant, so it's really convenient.

Inside Plan A Restaurant: ocean views and seating

The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with such a tasteful, full-of-feeling interior that I couldn't help but admire it. Overall it's clean yet cozy, so every photo turned out great! Plus the tables were spaced generously and comfortably apart, so I could chat freely without worrying about the next table over.

There's also a nice spacious group table area in the back, so it's perfect for gatherings or family meals out too. And they've got baby chairs ready for parents with young kids, plus blankets for cold days or when you're wearing a skirt, and even pillows thoughtfully set out — such considerate touches, it was really touching.

Basic pickles came out along with cider served in an ice-filled cup, which was satisfying.

The tableware was clean, hygienic, and pretty too.

How does the 240g beef chop steak taste?

Ta-da, my steak and salad arrived. At a glance the portions looked generous and the plating was really pretty.

I hadn't even eaten it yet but the look and smell already passed the test. The moment it landed on the table, a subtle smoky, grilled aroma drifted up and made my mouth water just looking at it. The meat cuts looked thick too, so it seemed like it would be delicious.

I tried the beef right away, cut into bite-sized pieces, and the moment it hit my mouth, savory juices burst out with every chew — better than expected. The smoky special sauce paired so well with the meat that it wasn't greasy at all, and I kept reaching for more.

The meat itself wasn't tough or dry at all — it was really tender, so I thought it'd be great to bring parents or kids along to enjoy it too.

The mushrooms and bell peppers were sautéed nicely in the meat juices too, sweet and tasty haha. The texture was nice and soft as well.

The fries served alongside tasted exactly like the familiar Cajun fries from Kraze Burger. They were savory and crispy with good seasoning, great to pick at between bites of steak.

Chicken salad for 13,000 won: portion and ingredients

The chicken salad wowed me visually the moment it arrived, with its colorful look. It wasn't just tossed together carelessly — the colorful vegetables, chicken, and dressing were arranged neatly on a big plate, and you could tell a lot of care went into the plating.

I tried it right away — the generously sized chicken chunks were crispy outside and moist inside, better than I expected. The sweet-and-sour raisins and fresh tomatoes added bursts of flavor along with the savory sprinkled cheese, and the combination was fantastic. All the vegetables were fresh too, with a great crunchy texture.

Above all, they didn't skimp on ingredients and filled the plate generously, so it felt like great value too — I was fully satisfied the whole time eating it 👍 Next time I want ocean-view Western food while looking out at Songdo Beach in Pohang, I'll have to come back here. I was really full by the time I finished today haha.
