Hanam Misa ramen restaurant with house-made noodles: Menji
In short
Menji Hanam Misa Branch is a chicken-broth ramen restaurant with house-made noodles on Misagangbyeonbuk-ro 30beon-gil in Hanam, Gyeonggi. Menji shares its entrance with the bakery Easy White Bread in the same building, which is confusing at first, but inside is a small dining room with a big window looking out on Mangwolcheon stream. The handmade ramen with mini pork loin tonkatsu set costs 16,500 won and the ramen and mini rice combo 13,500 won, and both sets were filling enough to feel like good value.

Here's a review of a Hanam ramen restaurant I visited on a day when I really wanted something warm and brothy. It's Menji Hanam Misa Branch in Misa. I was curious because it's a chicken-broth ramen specialist, and it really lived up to it. So here's my honest review of Menji Hanam Misa Branch~

Where is Menji Hanam Misa Branch? The entrance it shares with a bakery
Menji Hanam Misa Branch is near Misa Riverside Park. One quirky thing about this place — it's not structured so that Menji stands out on its own.

There's a bakery called Easy White Bread in the same building, and since they share an entrance, you might think "is this really the right place?" the first time you go.

Walk through the bakery entrance and head inside, and Menji appears right there.

I liked that there's a clear menu board at the entrance so you can check it out before going in. As for parking, there are a few spots in front of the store, but not many. Building residents get priority, so during peak times it's probably better to just use a nearby paid parking lot.

Inside Menji: dining room and bar seats for solo diners
Menji Hanam Misa Branch has that distinctly Japanese-ramen-shop feel the moment you walk in. Through the big window, the green scenery along Mangwolcheon stream just pours in.

The wood-tone interior really feels like an actual local ramen shop in Japan, and there's fun in spotting the wall posters and the figurines placed here and there.

The store isn't huge — it's on the cozier, smaller side.
There's a long bar table right in front of the kitchen like a dachi counter, plus 2–4 person tables.
The bar table even has phone stands, which makes it genuinely optimized for solo dining in Misa.

Every table has a wireless charger too, plus hair ties and disposable aprons ready to go. There's also storage under the chairs, handy for bags or coats.

You order through a tablet at the table. Little details like these really boost how satisfying the visit feels.
Menji's menu and the two sets we ordered
Menji is a place that uses house-made fresh noodles. I heard the char siu is also made fresh daily, sous vide from raw pork shoulder.

The menu lineup is genuinely varied. There's tori paitan ramen, kara tantanmen, spicy tori paitan, char siu-loaded tori paitan ramen, and beyond that, handmade pork loin tonkatsu, yakitori don, and chicken karaage don.

The set menus are also well put together, so you can enjoy it with good value for money.

Here's what we ordered that day!
- ✔️ Handmade ramen + mini pork loin tonkatsu set: ₩16,500 (choice of tori paitan ramen / cheese rice)
- ✔️ Ramen & mini rice combo: ₩13,500 (choice of kara tantanmen / mini mentaiko rice)
Among restaurants in Misa Riverside City, a set composition like this feels pretty solid considering today's prices.

What does Menji's tori paitan ramen taste like?
Tori paitan ramen has a broth made by simmering chicken for a long time, and the moment I took the first spoonful, I thought, "ah, this is it."
The broth is rich, but not a greasy kind of rich. It feels clean while the umami just explodes, so I kept going for more.

It even reminded me a bit of samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) broth. The noodles have whole wheat in them, I think, because the more you chew, the more the nutty flavor comes through, with a great snappy texture.

Cheese rice with ramen broth poured over, like risotto
When you order the ramen set, you can choose a mini rice, and I picked cheese rice.

I tried pouring a few spoonfuls of the tori paitan broth over it, and it turned into full-on risotto.
As the cheese melts into the rich chicken broth, the nutty flavor doubles — you really have to try this.

Kara tantanmen with the mini mentaiko rice combo, 13,500 won
I ordered the kara tantanmen because I was craving something spicy, and this satisfied too.
Adding spiciness to a rich broth made from chicken simmered long at high heat gave it much more depth.
The sous vide pork shoulder char siu was really tender too. No gamey smell at all, just nutty and mild — pairs perfectly with the noodles.
Eating it with the mini mentaiko (seasoned pollack roe) rice was great, since the salty mentaiko went really well with the spicy broth.
Menji's handmade pork loin tonkatsu and the side dishes
Since it's a ramen shop, I figured the tonkatsu would just be a side note, but I was completely wrong.
It's handmade tonkatsu made from raw Korean pork loin (hanwoo pork), completely crispy outside and juicy inside.
Eating a bite of tonkatsu between spoonfuls of ramen, then going back for more broth — this combo was genuinely great. The set also comes with a piece of takoyaki, which was perfect as a palate cleanser at the end. The basic side dish of pickled mustard leaf wasn't too salty either, seasoned just right, and paired well with the ramen.
Is Menji Hanam Misa Branch worth a visit?
- ✔️ A Hanam ramen restaurant with rich chicken broth
- ✔️ Pour ramen broth into cheese rice to eat it like risotto
- ✔️ A spot optimized for solo dining in Misa
The set compositions were so generous that I felt the value for money was good. Eating just the ramen alone might feel a bit lacking, but being able to add tonkatsu or rice makes it much more filling.
My stomach felt comfortable even after eating, which I think is thanks to the whole wheat in the noodles. It's also nice to take a walk along Mangwolcheon stream afterward, so consider making it a course.
There can be a wait during peak times, but you can wait at the bakery in the same building, so it's not too rough. On weekdays there's a break time, so check the hours before you go.
