Cheese Bbang burger and buffalo wings at Buggies Tangbang, Daejeon

I'm bringing you an honest review of the most famous handmade burger place in Daejeon 🍔"Buggies Tangbang"🍔 I've been eating here since I was a student..!!! This is my nth visit but I'm finally posting about it.

Buggies Tangbang hours, parking and address in Tanbang-dong

Buggies Tangbang is open daily from 11:10 AM to 8:30 PM, with last order at 7:50 PM. The address is 759 Tanbang-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, and parking is available in front of and behind the restaurant.

What Buggies Tangbang looks like from the street

So American-vibes!! I was amazed by the corner signage lol. At night the neon sign stands out and it's even prettier.

"Buggies sweet potato fries, maximum sweetness" — using the Chiaksan peach meme like this lol. They even copied the banner color, so funny. I heard the sweet potato fries are this year's new menu item, but I'm more of a potato person than a sweet potato person, so I haven't tried them yet. If anyone's tried them, please share a review haha.

Inside Buggies Tangbang and how tablet ordering works

They also sell t-shirt merch printed with photos of Buggies' menu items. Aren't the t-shirts cute?? There are also free stickers to take, plus a burger jelly gacha machine!!

There are tables for 1 to 4 people, and you order using the tablet set up at each table. It gets really crowded at lunchtime. As expected of a well-known Tanbang-dong, Daejeon spot.

There's a wide selection of drinks, and you grab sauces and utensils yourself haha.

The Buggies menu and what we ordered

There's no paper menu at the table — it's kept at the counter. Everything on the menu is good, but I actually prefer other burgers over the signature burger. My personal favorites are 1. the Cheese Bbang burger and 2. the avocado burger haha.

I already had avocado this morning, so today I ordered the Cheese Bbang burger! And buffalo wings — I always order those together. Spicy and salty, exactly what it should be~

What does the Cheese Bbang burger taste like?

This flashy-looking burger is the Cheese Bbang burger. It's a burger topped with a big pile of melted cheese crisped up like nurungji (scorched rice).

This Tanbang-dong, Daejeon go-to, Buggies' Cheese Bbang burger, is great for photos and fun to eat too haha. It's crispy and salty, so if you like crispy scorched cheese, it's a must-order 🧀

They bring out the drink first and then serve all the food at once!!

Fries, buffalo wings and chicken snack at Buggies

The side fries are thick-cut and moist inside. If I had to compare them among Mc*, Burger K*ng, and Lotte*a, they're closest to Burger King's fries 🍟 My favorite, the buffalo wings, are crispy outside and juicy inside. They come with celery too, which is a nice touch. They're a little spicy, which makes them even tastier.

I like that the mango-flavored Jarritos doesn't overpower the burger's taste — you'll understand once you try it 😺 It obviously goes well with the buffalo wings too.

This was my first time trying the chicken snack, and it was so good I think I'll order it often. It had a 🌶 mark meaning spicy, but for me it wasn't spicy at all. Felt like there wasn't really anything spicy in it! The chicken inside is crispy and delicious 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Not many handmade burger places include vegetables by default, which makes me love Buggies even more!!

Balsamic onions, the touch unique to Buggies

I've been to pretty much every famous handmade burger place in Daejeon, and in my analysis, Buggies' defining feature is the balsamic onions (maybe I'm wrong..?) lol. The onions are sweet and tangy, really delicious haha. Since I don't eat cucumbers, balsamic onion instead of pickle is the best for me!! lol

The Cheese Bbang burger doesn't come with pickles, so if you're not a pickle fan and you like salty, crispy flavors, I recommend this Tanbang-dong, Daejeon favorite, Buggies 🧀🍔
