Tanbang-dong burger takeout in Daejeon: buffalo wings at Buggies
In short
Buggies Tangbang is a handmade burger restaurant in an alley across from Rodeo Town in Tanbang-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon. After a nearby dentist appointment, we picked up a double cheeseburger, a Hangover burger and buffalo wings to share, and each burger came labeled with a sticker so it was easy to tell apart, with neat packaging. Buggies Tangbang is a good takeout stop for a picnic at the arboretum or Expo Plaza.

Hi, this is Junikhim! Haven't been to Tanbang-dong in a while. Had a dentist appointment nearby and my wife said she was craving a handmade burger, so we headed to Buggies Tangbang, the place that comes to mind whenever people mention Daejeon's best handmade burgers.
Where is Buggies Tangbang in Tanbang-dong, Daejeon?
Buggies Tangbang is a handmade burger place in Tanbang-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, tucked in an alley across from Tanbang-dong Rodeo Town. This is the exact Daejeon Tanbang-dong spot I visited.

The entrance already has a hip vibe, so I'd recommend it as a Daejeon date course too.
Inside Buggies Tangbang: bar seats and outdoor tables
The inside of Buggies Tangbang feels like an American fast food joint. The tables are spaced out nicely too, so it feels comfortable.

This is the interior. The whole place has that American fast food feel.

With decent spacing between tables, it's comfortable and pretty hip — good for a quick meal or a date spot.

When there's no seating at lunchtime, there are bar seats set up like this, so it's great for solo dining whether you're around Dunsan-dong or Tanbang-dong.

The weather's been getting cool and pleasant lately. There's outdoor seating too, so it's nice to eat while catching a cool breeze.

The store is decorated with all sorts of burger-themed interior pieces, neon signs, and fun signboards. This isn't just a place to eat — I'd say it's worth a visit just to check out.
Since you'll probably be eating a handmade burger with your hands, there's a handwashing station before you dig in. I also liked that you could grab extra sauces to suit your taste.
What's on the Buggies Tangbang menu?
The Buggies Tangbang menu board is filled entirely with handmade burgers, and there are several kinds of fries for sides too. You can also add patty, bacon, cheese, or hash brown to any burger.

This is the menu board at Buggies, a Daejeon Tanbang-dong favorite. All the items are handmade burgers — from cheeseburger to Hangover, Avocado, Godfather, Mushroom, Chicago, Cheese Bang, Twig, Crispy Chicken, and Badge — a wide variety, and you could add patty, bacon, cheese, hash brown, and more to any of them.
What I liked about Buggies, a favorite for Daejeon handmade burgers, is that the sides are excellent too. Besides the basic French fries, there were chili fries, sweet potato fries, cheese fries, garlic butter fries, and pepperoni cheese fries — plus snack wraps, buffalo wings, and salad. The menu lineup was great.
Takeout review: double cheeseburger, Hangover burger and buffalo wings
I got a double cheeseburger, a Hangover burger, and buffalo wings to go from Buggies Tangbang to share with my wife. It's also a popular Tanbang-dong delivery spot, so a lot of people order takeout or delivery too.

I packed it up like this to share with my wife.

Took out everything I'd packed to go — double cheeseburger, Hangover burger, and buffalo wings. The packaging was so neat that I thought this would be perfect to bring along for a picnic at Daejeon Arboretum or Expo Square in this nice weather.

Since we ordered two burgers, it could get confusing which was which, but they had stickers marking each one, so it was easy to tell them apart.

A delicious handmade burger — it had been a while.

Double cheeseburger at Buggies Tangbang
The double cheeseburger, mine to eat. Two patties. Inside: two patties, two slices of cheese, tomato, grilled onion, and lettuce.

Basically, the first bite is packed with patty and cheese. It's juicy and heavy, but these days there are burgers with 4 or 5 patties, so this is nothing.

The bun is toasted till crisp and coated with sauce, so it tastes good even eaten on its own.

Hangover burger at Buggies Tangbang
This is the Hangover burger. My wife usually likes the mushroom burger, but I forgot and bought this one instead. She'd never had it before but ended up enjoying it a lot.

Patty and cheese with grilled onion, hash brown, fried egg, tomato, and lettuce.

If the double cheeseburger leaned heavily on patty flavor, this one felt more layered with the hash brown, bacon, and egg added in!

Buffalo wings as the side
For a side, we ordered buffalo wings. I actually really love Buggies' fries, but since we were sharing it as takeout with my wife, I worried the fries might go soggy, so I went with buffalo wings instead. That said, the cheese fries and pepperoni fries are both delicious too!

The buffalo wings come with the sauce on the side. The drumsticks are pretty big.

Good dipped in the sauce, good plain too.

The spicy seasoning is really tasty, and the inside was cooked through well.

Eating celery alongside it is refreshing too. Tried a wing as well.

Buggies in Tanbang-dong, a real favorite for Daejeon handmade burgers — the taste is genuinely great, so be sure to check it out!
