Bucheon spicy octopus spot, torch cheese fried rice: Yajju Yajju
In short
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is a jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried webfoot octopus) restaurant near Exits 5 and 6 of Chunui Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. This visit was the Jjuu Jjuu set, which pairs beef brisket with jjukkumi, plus one extra beef brisket portion and extra shrimp, finished with cheese fried rice that a staff member melts at the table with a blowtorch. The house mayo sauce and perilla leaf wraps take the edge off the heat, which is why Yajju Yajju keeps earning return visits too many to count.

Today's must-visit spot,

Today I went back to Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch (야쭈야쭈매콤쭈꾸미본점), my go-to spicy octopus restaurant in Bucheon.

Why this Bucheon jjukkumi restaurant became a regular stop
Is there anywhere in Bucheon that does jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried octopus) really well?

Honestly, haven't we all been disappointed by a jjukkumi place where the octopus is tiny as a bean and the sauce is just spicy and salty for no reason?

But this place has already earned the #1 ranking on delivery apps, and it's my proven, tried-and-true regular spot whenever I crave that spicy fire flavor haha! I've been many times both by delivery and in person. My favorite combination is jjukkumi-uu-jjukkumi, where savory beef brisket meets plump octopus, paired with the special mayo sauce! Let me share my review of Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch, already famous as a top jjukkumi restaurant in Bucheon!
How to get to Yajju Yajju from Chunui Station Exit 5 or 6
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is just a short turn off from Exit 5 or 6 of Chunui Station. I first found it through a former coworker and used to come often even for lunch. After my office moved, I couldn't visit as much, but I missed it so much this time that I came back!
Inside Yajju Yajju: atmosphere and seating

The restaurant has about 6 tables set up!

There's a cozy, nostalgic feel — perfect for a drink or two.

It feels like a hidden neighborhood gem or hangout spot, great for drinks with local friends.
The menu and what we ordered at Yajju Yajju

Once again, without any hesitation, I ordered my go-to winning menu item: jjukkumi-uu-jjukkumi (beef brisket + spicy octopus)! My near-constant combo is beef brisket with jjukkumi, and I always finish it off properly with cheese fried rice!
What side dishes come with the jjukkumi
First, the basic side dishes came out. Perilla leaves, flying fish roe, special mayo sauce, pickled radish, and seaweed!

There's also hot bean sprout soup on the side. Even from the side dish lineup alone, you can already tell it's going to pair perfectly with the jjukkumi.
And finally, corn salad too! A side dish that pairs well with spicy food.

How is it already this generous before the main dish even arrives?! Wow~
Jjuu Jjuu with extra beef brisket and shrimp: how much food you get

Finally, my order of jjukkumi-uu-jjukkumi arrived.

I added one extra portion of beef brisket and one extra shrimp on top. Visually stunning — just looking at it makes my mouth water. It comes fully cooked, so you can dig in right away!
Since I'm a beef brisket fanatic, adding extra gave me noticeably more than usual!

I dug through my photo album to bring you a comparison shot of the portion without the extra order too! Heh heh

The way the octopus stays plump and doesn't shrink even after stir-frying is amazing!!! Why is it so chubby?
It's not chewy at all — springy yet tender, with the spicy special sauce soaked all the way through. You'll understand immediately why this place is considered one of the best jjukkumi restaurants in Bucheon!

The savory juices and fat from the beef brisket coat the spicy, tangy jjukkumi sauce, boosting its umami while also neutralizing the heat. A perfect balance of spicy and savory! Absolutely. Fully. Satisfied.

The best way to eat it: perilla wraps, seaweed and mayo sauce
And there are so many ways to enjoy it deliciously!

First, the simplest way — just eat it straight! I also tried it with the shrimp I added instead of octopus.

This time I tried wrapping it in a perilla leaf! The perilla leaf wrap really, really, really goes well with the jjukkumi and beef brisket.

It's satisfying even just with seaweed alone. Honestly, that mayo sauce is such a game-changer that whatever you wrap it with tastes amazing, ugh. The spice mellows completely, and that creamy flavor is insane~

Cheese fried rice melted with a blowtorch at your table
By the time we were finishing off the jjukkumi-uu-jjukkumi, no matter how full I was, there's one essential course you can never skip

I ordered the cheese fried rice!

After mixing seaweed and rice into the leftover sauce, a staff member melts the cheese right in front of you with a powerful torch flame, and you can catch that char-grilled aroma as it's being made.
The visual of the cheese bubbling and browning as it sizzles, along with the smoky aroma that spreads out, was such a huge highlight. This is truly a masterstroke. Thanks to the direct flame, the outside of the cheese gets savory and crispy like a wood-fired pizza crust, while the inside stays moist and stretchy.
It seems like they use snow cheese, which might be why it tastes even better. Leaving Yajju Yajju without ordering the fried rice would truly be a crime...
Final verdict: who should eat at Yajju Yajju
If you're looking for savory, fiery spice rather than artificial capsaicin heat, and want the perfect finish with the fantastic combo of beef brisket and jjukkumi plus the torch cheese fried rice show, I highly recommend visiting Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch, a top jjukkumi restaurant in Bucheon!
And if you can't make it in person, Bucheon locals can order delivery too, so I recommend trying it that way as well! I'm planning to come back again with a coworker next time~
