Did you all know Gangnam Gyoja finally opened a branch at Seohyeon Station!? I'd had my eye on it, so I went for dinner with my husband! Seohyeon branch has great access from the station, and there's plenty to see and do nearby, so it's perfect for a walk or some sightseeing after lunch or dinner!!!

What Gangnam Gyoja feels like at 8pm, and the seating
I arrived around 8pm, and it definitely felt a bit past dinner rush so the crowd had thinned out, but people kept trickling in little by little! Tables having a light drink, family dinners, and solo diners too! Neither kalguksu nor sujebi is a polarizing dish, and there are plenty of other menu items, so it's such an easy place to visit!

What might be Gangnam Gyoja's best perk — rice is free-refill here! I've actually had Gangnam Gyoja in Seoul before, and the kalguksu broth here has serious depth,,,? Spooning some rice into it is just incredible! The menu prices are reasonable and rice refills are free too? Guys, take note and I definitely recommend visiting ^^
Both dishes came out pretty quickly! It was late evening, so I was so grateful for that!? And looking at the portions,, wow, this is definitely more than one serving each!
Plus the weather's gotten a bit chilly lately, and doesn't this kind of kalguksu and sujebi suit both lunch and dinner so well??? Both dishes go perfectly with kimchi too — I feel like we really nailed the menu choice today!
Stirring seasoning sauce into the kalguksu broth
The signature dish at Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch is the kalguksu. Kalguksu with dumplings, meat toppings, and a cool broth that has both garlicky flavor and umami all at once? This is a combo that's definitely going to work! So if you have room in your stomach, I really want to tell you to spoon some rice into it!
Personally, I very very! recommend stirring seasoning sauce into the Gangnam Gyoja kalguksu! The umami doubles and you can inhale it endlessly! Still, try the broth first before adding it, then adjust to your taste!
Perilla sujebi: how the nutty broth tastes
My husband picked the perilla sujebi. Wow, this dish is a whole new discovery. I always thought kalguksu was the fundamental order at Gangnam Gyoja, but this perilla kalguksu is really thick and the sujebi dough pieces are so chewy~ totally my style! When it gets colder in fall and winter, I'm definitely coming back for this sujebi again!
Tteokgalbi from the review event
The tteokgalbi came through the review event. Wow, from the first bite I kept saying this is the real deal,,! Truly high-quality, handmade flavor! They give this out as a review event?? You absolutely need to do the review event and make sure you get the tteokgalbi..!
We tried eating it a bunch of different ways? It'd been a while since we shared both dishes like this! Why? Because both were so delicious we wanted to eat both haha. My husband complimented me on both the restaurant pick and the menu choice today!
Would I go back to Gangnam Gyoja for late-night kalguksu?
Also, maybe because it's a newly opened spot, it was clean and the staff were friendly, which made me want to recommend it even more! It's a Seohyeon Station restaurant that nails taste, value, cleanliness, and friendliness all at once.
Cleared the table completely that day too!!! It feels like I've found a place I actually like near Seohyeon Station after a while. I think I'll visit more often once it gets colder. Come try the warm kalguksu too! Highly, highly recommend it :)
