Solo drive, Yergacheffe hand-drip at Namyangju café Waltz & Dr. Mahn

After working hard for two weeks, I finally got a 3-day break haha. I wanted somewhere with an open, heart-clearing view to heal quietly by myself. So I combined driving practice with a drive and headed to the Bukhan River in Namyangju, a spot I'd been eyeing for a while ^..^

This time I visited Waltz and Dr. Mahn, already famous for its old-fashioned, classic atmosphere! I'm confident I've been to pretty much every pretty café in the Namyangju area, and I can say without hesitation this place is overwhelmingly #1 in terms of view and classic vibe, so I brought a review! 👍

As a beginner driver going on a solo drive, the thing I fear most is parking haha... Usually riverside hotspots have cramped parking, so you're already sweating just pulling in 😭 But Waltz and Dr. Mahn has not just one but two dedicated parking lots, so I had zero parking stress!

The spaces are generously spaced and the guidance was clear, so even a beginner driver like me parked smoothly in one try. Five stars starting from the entrance 🤍

The moment I walked in, the antique, classic European-style interior blew my mind...

There's a care kids zone, so you can bring your kids too :)

About 8 window seats, still open at 3pm on a weekday

You absolutely must grab a window seat! There were about 8 window seats, and on my weekday visit at 3pm plenty were still open :) On days like this with cool breezes and clear skies, they leave the big windows wide open, so just turn your head and there's the wide-open Bukhan River view... ✨

The outdoor seating is also really well set up, so in weather like this it'd be great to have a coffee outside and take photos 🤤

Feeling the cool river breeze while zoning out at the water, all the stress I'd built up just melted away 🥹 On top of that they play classical music, and the atmosphere is insane ㅠㅠ Add that open view to the upscale European-mansion feel and it just gives such a great sensation...

Plus the staff serve you in classic waiter outfits, and they were so kind. With plenty of space and roomy seating, I'd recommend this large Namyangju café to anyone looking for a spot to truly rest without feeling crowded!

Honestly, compared to other Namyangju cafés, the prices overall run quite high. When you first see the numbers on the menu you might flinch a little, but once you actually taste the coffee and enjoy the space, the quality and the one-of-a-kind view are enough to make it worth it.

The hand-drip coffee especially had such distinctive flavor that I never once thought the money was wasted 👍 I figured this much is fair to spend on great coffee...!

The blueberry cheesecake in particular had really strong cheese flavor, piled high with fresh blueberries, so every bite was a pleasure!

I came alone on my day off to relax and truly healed :) Looking at the river through the picture windows the whole time, I kept thinking 'I absolutely have to come back here with my fiancé'... haha (it was so good I almost felt bad coming alone)

If you're looking for a spot for a drive-date along the Bukhan River on an anniversary or special day, I strongly recommend this place as a can't-miss choice!
