On a day when I wanted something different from my usual menu, I visited Manokamana Songdo Branch (머노까머나 송도점), a popular Indian restaurant in Songdo.

Restaurant entrance with lunch set information

This is a Songdo Indian curry favorite serving authentic Indian and Nepali food. Lunch sets are also listed at the entrance. They seemed like a good option when you want to sample several Indian dishes without struggling over the menu.

An interior full of Indian character

There is also a place to clean your hands at the entrance!

I took these photos at lunchtime, after a wave of office workers had visited. It must be popular with nearby workers too. There are outdoor tables as well!

Space for group visits

I noticed a space next to the counter and had a look inside. There is a separate room, so it seemed like a nice option for groups if you reserve in advance.

Our B Set order for two

Menu information for the B Set for two

The two of us visited that day and ordered Set B!

The B Set includes a green salad, chicken tikka, curry, naan, rice, and lassi, so there is lots to try.

Once you choose the curry, naan, rice, and drinks, your order is complete!

All dishes are personally prepared by Indian and Nepali chefs with more than 10 years of experience. It is popular as a Songdo Indian curry spot, so I was excited for the food!!

Basic table setting

Plates, spoons, forks, and water came out, along with wet wipes that are not shown in the photo.

What we tried in the B Set

Green salad

Green salad with nuts and dressing

Fresh vegetables, nuts, and a sweet-and-tangy dressing really opened up my appetite before the meal.

Green salad with a side that looks like onion kimchi

The item on the left looked like onion kimchi; it was so crisp and tasty that I kept scooping it up(?)!

Chicken tikka and lassi

Chicken tikka and lassi set

Lassi

This is lassi, a traditional Indian yogurt drink. It was tangy, smooth, and sweet. It felt like it refreshed my palate!

Chicken tikka

Tandoori chicken tikka with fragrant spices

It is boneless chicken marinated overnight in traditional Indian spices, then grilled in a tandoor as barbecue!

The outside was nicely browned, with a gentle kick of spicy spice flavor. This was a dish I enjoyed so, so much!

Chicken tikka dish we enjoyed

Naan

Plain naan served with curry

There were several kinds of naan, but I ordered the most basic one. It was chewy and mild, and it paired beautifully dipped in the curry. Its simple flavor made it especially good with curry!

Butter chicken curry

Out of the various curries, I chose butter chicken curry.

Smooth butter chicken curry

The butter chicken curry was smooth and rich. A subtle tomato tang kept it from feeling heavy, and the tender chicken in the curry went perfectly with naan when I dipped it in generously.

Basmati rice

Fluffy basmati rice

This is rice made with Indian rice! The grains are long and slender, fluffy, and separate nicely, so it was great with curry.

I wrapped rice and curry in naan, and also mixed curry into the basmati rice. I absolutely, absolutely agree that it was delicious!

A satisfying finish with several Indian dishes at once

Manokamana Songdo Branch had such a well-rounded set menu that it was great for trying several Indian dishes at once! It is also in a convenient spot after a walk around Central Park, so if you are looking for Indian curry in Songdo, I think it is worth a visit.
