Wangsimni café for matcha basque cheesecake and lemon iced tea: Eojil
In short
Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is a two-floor café and dessert shop on Majo-ro 9-gil near Wangsimni Station in Seongdong, Seoul. On a second visit, the writer tried the dense matcha basque cheesecake, a refreshing lemon iced tea and a warm decaf latte, with the tangy tea cutting nicely through the richness. If only one café could be picked for a short weekend break, this was it.

Today I want to introduce a Wangsimni café and dessert spot I genuinely adore — Eojil In. This was already my second visit, which tells you how much I love this place. The area around Wangsimni Station is super convenient transit-wise and has plenty to do nearby, so I end up meeting people there a lot.

What's the vibe like at this Wangsimni dessert café?

This is one of those places that nails both atmosphere and taste, so I'm satisfied every single time I go. Eojil In has been rising as a new favorite in the Wangsimni café and dessert scene, and once you visit in person, you immediately get why everyone's drawn here.

It's super accessible right by the station, and the store spreads spaciously across two floors, so it's perfect for spending time comfortably. My in-laws offered to watch the baby over the weekend, so I snuck out for a little while. With only enough time for one stop, Eojil In was the first place that came to mind, so I headed straight there.

The interior overall is clean yet upscale, so I'd really recommend it as a date spot too. Last time I tried the baked goods here, and honestly every single one was delicious — you really can't go wrong picking whatever suits your taste.

It works great for a quiet meal with family, and it's just as good for chatting comfortably with friends.

Thanks to the tidy, well-arranged atmosphere, my mood lifts the moment I walk in.

Above all, the staff are so friendly that I always walk away with good energy after every visit.

After spending time in a place with such good vibes, enjoying great food, all my everyday fatigue just melted away.
How did the matcha basque cheesecake and drinks taste?

What I tried this visit exceeded my expectations. First, I had the matcha basque cheesecake, and the dense, fudgy texture was outstanding. Rich matcha aroma fills your mouth, and the balance of sweet and slightly bitter notes kept me reaching for another bite. Even people who don't usually go for dessert would enjoy this clean, well-balanced sweetness.

Eojil In is known for its meal menu too, but the dessert and drink lineup is so solid that it holds up perfectly well as a straight-up café. You can sense fresh ingredients throughout the menu, which made me trust the place even more.

The lemon iced tea I paired it with was so refreshing — it cleaned up my palate perfectly right when it could've started feeling heavy. Every drink felt made with real care, so I felt genuinely looked after the whole time I was drinking it.

The warm decaf café latte was just as satisfying, with soft milk foam and a nutty coffee aroma coming together nicely. I always check whether a café has a decaf option when I'm ordering a latte, so having such a delicious decaf here was genuinely great. The clean presentation also made everything photogenic, so I kept picking up my camera without even meaning to. If you're looking for a place in Wangsimni with a great atmosphere and great food, definitely stop by.
Would I go back?
This was my second visit, and I'm already looking forward to trying yet another menu item next time. The area around Wangsimni Station also has big-box marts and other amenities nearby, so it's a nice spot to wander around a bit after eating. If you ever find yourself in Wangsimni, don't overthink it — go spend some comfortable, delicious time at Eojil In.
