Wangsimni cafe with sofa seats and Rummikub: Nerdy Blue Burrow
In short
Nerdy Blue Burrow is a cozy cafe on Gosanja-ro 12-gil near Wangsimni Station in Seongdong, Seoul. On a sunny weekend afternoon, hazelnut choco pudding, nerdy cream mocha, and decaf vanilla latte were ordered before settling into the plush sofa seats for a round of Rummikub. With only 5-6 tables it can be hard to snag a seat, but the vibe and the desserts both delivered.

The weather was seriously gorgeous one weekend! With skies that clear, no way I was staying home — so I went looking for a pretty, hip, aesthetic cafe and ended up at 'Nerdy Blue Burrow' in Wangsimni.

For parking, I used a place called Sowol Art Hall near Nerdy Blue Burrow. (Parking there is free for the first 30 minutes, then ₩1,000 up to 30 minutes, and ₩500 per additional 10 minutes after that.)
What's the vibe inside?

I first found out about Nerdy Blue after visiting the original Nerdy Blue near Cheongnyangni/Hoegi Station. The name and vibe felt similar, so I asked — turns out they're the same brand. The Cheongnyangni/Hoegi branch is closer to my place, so I'd already been there several times.

Nerdy Blue Burrow is smaller and more compact than Nerdy Blue. It's mostly tables for two, with about 5–6 tables total — a cute, snug little cafe.
Actually, I'd tried to visit Nerdy Blue Burrow once before after learning there was a same-name cafe in Wangsimni, but there were no seats, so I had to turn back. This time, even though it was the weekend, I got lucky and found a seat.
There's a restroom inside, which made things convenient. I feel like at any cafe, you end up needing the restroom at least once.
It's quiet and small enough that coming here solo wouldn't feel awkward at all.
The menu — popular picks and the one-order-per-person rule

The menu board at this Wangsimni cafe, Nerdy Blue Burrow. Among the coffee options, this month's coffee and the nerdy cream mocha were the popular picks. You can switch any coffee to decaf for an extra ₩900.
Nerdy Blue Burrow also sells cocktails and highballs, with the pink burrow being a popular choice. Non-coffee options included milk tea, iced tea, rooibos tea, and nerdy milk. One drink or dish per person is required.

For dessert there was fresh cheesecake, hazelnut choco pudding, banana pudding, and classic financier. Since the hazelnut choco pudding is the best-seller, I decided to try the choco pudding.

Apparently both the banana pudding and choco pudding are available for takeout too.
Exactly my vibe

Nerdy Blue Burrow is described as a place where you can spend time in a cozy vibe listening to great music — and that description fit perfectly. The calm, quiet atmosphere lets a single cup of coffee feel like a brief escape from everyday life, a little pocket of healing.

There was a Rummikub set at the cafe, so we decided to play for the first time in ages — the rules were only half-remembered haha.
The calendar was so cute I snapped a photo of it... looking closer, I wondered if it was hand-drawn? Whoever decorated this cafe clearly has a serious eye for aesthetics.
They'd draped fabric over the lamp so the light wasn't too harsh, which made for a really comfortable atmosphere to relax in.
Our order — choco pudding, cream mocha, vanilla latte

- Hazelnut choco pudding ₩6,900
- Nerdy cream mocha ₩6,500
- Decaf vanilla latte ₩6,800
- = ₩20,200

Perfect timing for a sugar recharge on a lazy weekend afternoon. Choco pudding, cream mocha, and vanilla latte — an entire assembly of sweetness.

After a week of accumulated stress and fatigue, just looking at sweet coffee and dessert seemed to lift my mood.

The pudding is thick and dense, and the portion is generous! A whole little mountain of it.

Nerdy cream mocha
Bitter coffee met soft cream, and from the very first sip a nutty, subtly sweet flavor spread out. Add in the deep chocolate character of a proper mocha, and the balance between bitterness and sweetness landed just right. I worried that pairing it with the choco pudding might be too sweet, but they went together better than expected.
The cream in Nerdy Blue Burrow's mocha wraps around your mouth so smoothly that it never feels heavy — more like enjoying a dessert in liquid form.

Decaf vanilla latte
The vanilla latte had just the right level of sweetness and a lovely aroma.

Hazelnut choco pudding
The moment my spoon went in, the choco pudding at this Wangsimni cafe showed its thick, smooth texture right away, and my expectations shot up. In the mouth, the rich bittersweet chocolate mixed with a subtle, deep nuttiness distinct to hazelnut.

It wasn't just plain sweet chocolate flavor — nutty notes cut through in between, giving it a pretty layered taste. Even after each bite, a lingering hazelnut aroma stayed appealing. Totally recommend this one whenever you're craving something sweet.
Sofa seats, decor, and Rummikub

This Wangsimni cafe, Nerdy Blue Burrow, also has sofa seating, which is where we sat. The sofa was so plush that we lost track of time chatting.

Every corner of Nerdy Blue Burrow, this Wangsimni cafe, is decorated with cute little props. For such a small space, there seemed to be quite a lot of lighting fixtures.

There's even a coat hanger here.

Playing the board game Rummikub for the first time in ages, we totally lost track of time laughing and chatting. It was way more fun than expected since it had been so long! And the winner was — yours truly.
Final verdict

Nerdy Blue Burrow is a cafe where everything, from the atmosphere to the desserts and drinks, is put together with real sense — I felt good the entire time I was there. The space is pretty and the mood is calm, making it a great spot to relax and chat unhurriedly.
The hazelnut choco pudding and cream mocha combo in particular worked so well together that the dessert side was fully satisfying too! Now I'm curious about the cheesecake — next time I'll have to try that. If you're looking for a Wangsimni cafe with a great atmosphere, 'Nerdy Blue Burrow' is well worth a visit — highly recommend!
