Monthly Beer, a bar in Guro Digital Complex — a solid pick for good food and great value in Guro. I've been going to Guro Digital Complex pretty often lately, so I've been slowly building up a list of good spots there haha. This time I went to Monthly Beer Guro Digital Complex Station Branch, which turned out to be a great place for tasty snacks and a draft beer 🍺

If you're looking for a Guro bar with a wide variety of dishes at decent prices, I'd definitely recommend this place! It's also a bar with parking, which made it easy to visit even with a car.

📍 Monthly Beer Guro Digital Complex Station Branch is located on the 1st floor of 7 Digital-ro 32na-gil, Guro-gu, Seoul. It's on Kkalkkal Street, where a row of bars in Guro is clustered together, so it wasn't hard to find, and you can also walk there from Exit 2 of Guro Digital Complex Station. Plus there's a parking lot right next to the store, which is a nice bonus if you're driving!

A menu wide enough to make Monthly Beer a first-round bar

The name Monthly Beer makes it sound like a beer-focused spot, but once you look at the menu it's way more varied than expected. There's pizza, pasta, chicken, fried food, soups, and stir-fries, so it works fine as a light second stop, but with such a wide range of snacks it's also totally fine as a first-round bar. Looking at it, the menu really does include everything from Crazy Chicken Pizza to shrimp jjamppong cream pasta, fried squid, chicken, and jjamppong sundubu (spicy soft tofu soup).

We ordered the shrimp jjamppong cream pasta plus fried squid that day, along with two draft beers. Coming to a beer bar and not ordering a draft beer would just feel wrong lol

How does the shrimp jjamppong cream pasta taste?

Honestly, the dish I enjoyed most was the shrimp jjamppong cream pasta! At first I figured it would just be your average bar pasta, but I was surprised how good it actually was once I tried it. The cream sauce is smooth, but with the spicy kick of jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) added in, it doesn't feel heavy and you just keep eating it!

And there are quite a lot of plump shrimp in it too. The sauce is spicy but also has that savory seafood depth, so it would work fine as a regular meal, not just a snack. Honestly it was better than the cream pasta I've had at plenty of brunch places lol. The portion is pretty generous too, so it's good for sharing among a group as a bar snack.

Crispy fried squid at Monthly Beer

You can't skip fried food as a beer snack! We also ordered the fried squid, and it was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside — perfect with a draft beer. It was seasoned just salty enough too, so it was a sip of beer → a bite of fried squid → another sip of beer lol

This combo just can't fail. If you like fried food, it's a great light order to have alongside a draft beer.

Draft beer for 3,900 won?

And here's the part I really liked about Monthly Beer! They were running a draft beer event, so we got to enjoy it for ₩3,900. A cold draft beer at a price that doesn't feel like a burden would also be great for office workers wanting a casual drink after work.

A cold draft beer really is the best thing 🍺 Monthly Beer also runs a concept where they feature a different imported beer at a low price every month, so if you like beer, it's worth checking what event they have going on when you visit.

Looking through reviews, a lot of people say the pizza at Monthly Beer is really good too. There are various pizzas on the menu, so next time I want to try the pizza-and-draft-beer combo. After trying the pasta and seeing how good the food quality was, I'm kind of looking forward to the pizza too lol
