If you're craving tender beef dishes in Yeoui-do, I'd recommend gyukatsu. This time I visited Izawa Yeouido Direct Store, located right in front of Yeouido Station. The accessibility was great, making it a good spot for meal appointments, office worker lunches, or dinner.

Where to park at Izawa Yeouido Direct Store: the ground-floor lot next to the building
Izawa Yeouido Direct Store is right in front of Yeouido Station, so it was convenient to find. But if you're planning to park, there's something you really need to check. You have to use the ground-floor lot next to the building. I parked in the basement level and ended up paying a parking fee. So make sure to check the parking location in advance to avoid the same regret I had.
What is the 18,000 won signature gyukatsu set like at Izawa?

This time I ordered the signature gyukatsu set, priced at 18,000 won. They say the gyukatsu uses sirloin, and honestly, the meat was really tender when I tried it. The outside was crispy while the inside was moist, giving a savory flavor that grew richer the more I chewed.
I especially loved the sirloin's characteristic softness — it felt like the meat was melting in my mouth. If you like beef, I think you'll be satisfied here.
Grilling the sirloin to your own taste on Izawa's mini charcoal grill

With gyukatsu, you can grill the meat to your preferred doneness on the mini charcoal grill set up at the table. The outside comes out already crisped, and you can cook the inside a bit more to your liking. Placing each piece on the grill and cooking it yourself made the meal more fun. Since you control the doneness yourself, it's a way even first-timers to gyukatsu can enjoy the experience.

What makes Izawa's gyukatsu different

Izawa says it introduced Korea's first gyukatsu in 2015, launching the country's gyukatsu culture. Believing that good food starts with good ingredients, they offer a special dining experience through carefully selected beef, a cooking method perfected through long research, an aging process, and a special sauce and recipe. I felt that Izawa's charm lies in the gyukatsu itself — crispy outside, tender and moist inside — grilled to your own taste on the mini charcoal grill.
Who Izawa Yeouido Direct Store suits best

If you're looking for a gyukatsu restaurant near Yeouido Station, give Izawa Yeouido Direct Store a try.

I got to enjoy both the tender texture of the sirloin gyukatsu and the fun of grilling it myself. It's close to Yeouido Station so accessibility is good, and with a variety of menu items, it's also a good place to visit with others who can order to their own taste. I hope this helps anyone looking for a gyukatsu restaurant near Yeouido Station. Next time I'd like to try the curry gyukatsu or the steki set.
Izawa Yeouido Direct Store location and opening hours

203, 204 Izawa, 42 Yeouinaru-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Open daily 11:00–21:00, with a break from 15:00–17:00 and last order at 20:30.
Gyukatsu has a different charm from regular donkatsu (pork cutlet). Wrapping beef in breading and frying it crisp, then grilling it to your own taste on the mini charcoal grill, made the meat's flavor even richer. I enjoyed it first for the crispy-outside, tender-inside texture, then tried grilling it a bit more for a cleaner, more savory taste. If you're looking for a different kind of beef dish in Yeoui-do, this place is worth a visit.
