Found Yeokjeon Pojangmacha in an alley in Yeongdeungpo! The name itself already has that pojangmacha (street food tent) vibe, so the mood is on point haha. Looked like a great spot to grab soju after work too 🍻 Just carefully head up this staircase!!!

Looking at the menu, the variety was seriously wide! From tomato dishes to beef tartare, hot pots to soups, tons of options that go great with drinks 👍🏻👍🏻 After some thinking, I ordered the Honey Tomato and the Majang-dong Hanwoo Beef Tartare 🥢

So many menu items were reasonably priced too, so I thought yep, this Yeongdeungpo Station bar really nails the value ✨ And the drinks were so cheap ㅠㅠ These days soju is ₩5,000, sometimes even ₩6,000, but here it's ₩3,900!!!!!!!!!! Draft beer was ₩2,900 too, amazing value....

The free fried macaroni side at Yeokjeon, refilled twice

A basic side dish of fried macaroni?! I'm obsessed ㅜㅜㅜ So so tasty I refilled it twice.... Even wanted to make it at home so I looked it up lol. Popping one of these with a somaek (soju-beer mix) already feels like the drinking session has started 🍶 I kept nibbling on it while waiting for the main dishes lol

Whoa, this group shot is insane 🩵 Doesn't it look delicious? Confirmed: this place is a value-for-money bar with great snacks!!!!!!! The beef tartare and honey tomato combo was way better than I expected, super satisfying haha.

What is Yeokjeon's Honey Tomato dish?

Honey Tomato 🍅🍯 — cute name from the start. The tomato gets that sweet touch added, and it went surprisingly well as a drinking snack! Tangy and sweet at once, so it was perfect to pop one in between bites of beef tartare haha. Especially with soju, having something refreshing alongside makes your mouth feel clean 👀 The price was decent too, great pick for a value bar's snack ✨

Majang-dong hanwoo beef tartare: taste and portion size

And here's the main dish, Majang-dong Hanwoo Beef Tartare 🥩🤍 The beef tartare came piled generously on the plate, mouthwatering just from the visual..💦 Being hanwoo (Korean native beef), the meat itself was tender and nutty, perfect with soju!! Going from the sweet honey tomato to a bite of beef tartare, the combo was so so good haha 😎 With a spread like this plus soju and draft beer, it turned into a proper drinking session 🍻
