Gwangmyeong Seoseo Galbi is a 3–5 minute walk from Exit 10 of Gwangmyeong Sageori Station, so accessibility is excellent. It's close enough to the station to reach easily by public transit, and it's also near Gwangmyeong Traditional Market, so it's a great spot to pair with a walk around the market before or after your meal.
When making plans around Gwangmyeong Sageori, things like distance to the station and ease of parking or getting around really matter. Since Seoseo Galbi sits right by the station, it seemed like an easy choice for meeting friends or holding a work dinner 👍 It would also make a nice combo trip after browsing Gwangmyeong Market.
Inside Gwangmyeong Seoseo Galbi: is the seating good for a group dinner?
The interior overall was neatly kept. There were plenty of tables and a variety of seating layouts, making it workable for anything from a small meal to a larger gathering.
The tables were spaced out fairly generously too, which made conversation easy while eating. It seemed just as suitable for a family meal as for a work dinner, a friends' gathering, or a date spot. It felt especially well matched to anyone looking for a spacious rib restaurant around Gwangmyeong Sageori 👍
The seating overall had a clean feel, and there were even more seats further inside, so it seemed like a restaurant that could be used in lots of different ways.
Unlimited marinated crab at the self-serve bar
The menu itself is simple, which actually made me feel more confidence in the meat 👍 For me, this kind of simplicity works even better for group dinners. Everything you need is at the self-serve bar — I feel like this kind of menu setup is the real deal if you want to actually taste the meat.

As I mentioned, the self-serve bar was well stocked too. There were plenty of side dishes to pair with the meat, and you could help yourself as much as you liked. What really stood out to me was the unlimited refills of marinated crab (yangnyeom gejang) — that made me so happy 🤍 My husband can't eat raw seafood, so for me it's such a welcome menu item 💗

The seasoning on the marinated crab is genuinely addictive.
What comes with the meal: the basic table setting
The basic side dish spread was made up of salad, lettuce wraps, stir-fried kimchi, pickled onion, scallion salad, marinated crab, garlic, ssamjang (dipping paste), salt, and a soy-based sauce.
Since I visited late at night, they thought the marinated crab didn't have much meat left in it, so they brought out a fresh batch with more meat — such thoughtful service 🐥🤍
Can you see how full the meat is packed in there? I just kept eating it even without rice 🐥
A little while after ordering, they bring out the charcoal and set up the grill.

Honestly, I'd give the staff full marks for service ;)
Fresh beef galbi (sosaeng galbi): nuttier the longer you chew
We ordered the fresh galbi and the seoseo galbi first, so here's the taste review of the fresh galbi.

You can tell the beef is fresh just by looking at it.
Unlike menus with a strong marinade, the appeal of the fresh raw galbi (sosaeng galbi) is that you get to enjoy the meat's own flavor in a comparatively clean way. As it browned nicely on the grill, a nutty aroma rose up that really got the appetite going.

With the first bite, the soft texture came through first, and the longer I chewed, the more that distinctive nutty beef flavor came alive. The outside carried a rich, smoky char while still tasting clean, and the inside stayed juicy, never dry.

The fresh galbi was tasty dipped fully in sauce, but personally I found the meat's flavor came through even better with just salt or the basic sides. The more I chewed, the more that subtle meaty aroma and nuttiness rose up, so it was plenty delicious even without any strong seasoning.

Since this is a menu where the meat's own flavor really stands out, I started off eating it plain and then enjoyed it later with the marinated crab or other side dishes. If you like that distinctive nutty beef flavor, this menu is very satisfying — it was also great wrapped in lettuce, so I kept making wraps 😂🤍

On top of that, there was that distinctive chewy bite you get from ribs, so the nuttiness and tenderness came together to make it even more delicious.
Signature seoseo galbi: special sauce and a second aging for deeper flavor
I couldn't skip the signature menu at Gwangmyeong Seoseo Galbi — the seoseo galbi.

This one goes through a second round of aging after being coated in a special sauce, so it had a depth of flavor quite different from a typical marinated galbi. Once it hit the grill, the sauce soaked into the meat and gave off a sweet, savory aroma. You can really tell the meat quality is good here, right? haha
As the meat cooked, the sauce took on a glossy sheen on the surface, and it browned nicely from the edges inward, developing an appetizing color.

The flavor struck a nice balance between sweet and salty. The sauce didn't just sit on the surface — it had soaked naturally into the meat, so the flavor came through with every bite. Maybe thanks to that second aging, the meat was tender to chew and the sauce's umami came through deeply.
Dipped in soy sauce it was even more intensely delicious, but honestly it was already so good without dipping it in anything 💗

If you like the rich flavor of marinated galbi but find overly intense flavors a bit much, this one should suit you well. This seoseo galbi has now become my favorite rib dish 🤍
Pork galbi: the lightest, cleanest-tasting cut
I was curious about the pork galbi too, so I ordered it. It was a medium thickness, so it cooked quickly over the charcoal — I could just keep grilling and eating without a break 🐥

There was a subtle nuttiness distinctive to pork, and the seasoning wasn't overly heavy, so it was easy to keep eating comfortably. Browned on the grill, the pork galbi picked up a gentle smoky char on the outside and had a pretty tender texture. They also served a side of soup similar to a dried radish-green doenjang stew, which was nice for cleansing the palate between bites.

If the fresh galbi is a menu centered on the meat's own natural nuttiness, the pork galbi felt like a dish where clean meaty flavor and a gentle seasoning came together nicely. It's worth ordering a few different types of meat to compare — personally, I found the pork galbi paired really well with the soy-based dipping sauce 👍

The fresh galbi's nutty flavor came alive more the more I chewed, and the signature seoseo galbi, made with a special sauce and a second round of aging, stood out with its deep marinade flavor and tender texture. The pork galbi was clean-tasting with a gentle smoky note that made it easy to enjoy. On top of all that, the well-stocked self-serve bar with unlimited marinated crab made for a high overall level of satisfaction.
