Gijang outlet Western restaurant for an in-law family lunch: Bueokgan

Where to go on an outing with a baby?! Outlets and department stores, of course. While down in Busan, I visited Bueokgan Restaurant, a spot near my in-laws' place at the Busan Shinsegae Outlet :)

Where is Bueokgan Restaurant in the Gijang outlet, and what are its hours?

Bueokgan Restaurant is at the very innermost end of North 1F at Shinsegae Premium Outlets Busan. Hours are weekdays 10:30–20:30, weekends 10:30–21:00, and they have baby chairs and take reservations.

From the outside alone, it feels like you've stepped into Europe. Outlet restaurants are usually crowded and noisy, but this Gijang favorite, Bueokgan, had such a comfortable, pretty dining atmosphere :)

Inside Bueokgan: YES Kids Zone seating and baby chairs

The inside of Bueokgan was pretty spacious. Since it's a YES Kids Zone, there were lots of people with kids, families out shopping at the outlet, and even couples on dates.

The interior is so pretty, right? Cute yet clean and cozy, and baby chairs were ready too.

The vibe was so nice I ended up photographing every corner. Such a pretty, European-style space.

This is the waiting area, and the seats were so wide several people could sit together!

There are napkins, wet wipes, and aprons too, so grab whatever you need.

Bueokgan's menu and the three dishes ordered this day

The menu had salads, sides, pasta, pizza and more — the famous ones are the alpine cabbage caesar salad, basil pesto cream pasta, lasagna, and so on! Every single item looked delicious 🥹

We picked today's soup, arugula prosciutto pizza, and abalone cream risotto! Everything came out faster than expected.

Sweet, smooth, and so tasty. The pistachios scattered throughout were the real kicker. This felt like the perfect palate cleanser dish! A menu kids would love too ☺️

Arugula prosciutto pizza at Bueokgan

So generously loaded with toppings it looked fresh and delicious.

The fragrant arugula, salty prosciutto, chewy dough, and flavorful cheese all came together harmoniously — it was so good 🍕

I inhaled three whole slices 🤤 The dough was light and not greasy, so good all the way through that I finished it without a trace haha

The green pepper sauce served with the pizza

And this side sauce wasn't hot sauce but green pepper sauce? It tasted like jalapeño and paired incredibly well with the pizza. Something like Tabasco I'd want to stock up on at home — make sure to add it 🤤

Abalone cream risotto at Bueokgan

Rich, savory abalone innards mixed into cream made it even more delicious 🥹 The umami was amazing!

The abalone was cut into small, easy-to-eat pieces with a nice chewy texture, and the rice was cooked just right 🤤 The fried enoki mushrooms were crispy and a great kicker!

Coming to Gijang, abalone cream risotto seems like a great alternative to abalone porridge ❤️ Turns out my parents-in-law kind of love cream sauce too?

I scraped the bowl clean like I was washing dishes with the abalone cream risotto — thinking about it now makes me want more haha

Is Bueokgan a good meal stop during outlet shopping?

Walking around the outlet while shopping tires you out and makes you hungry fast, so being able to eat in a calm, cozy, not-noisy atmosphere was such a relief ☺️☺️ Bueokgan Restaurant, the Gijang pasta favorite at Shinsegae Outlet Busan that satisfied both on atmosphere and taste. Next time I'll bring my baby and in-laws along too ☺️
