Busanjin curry restaurant with tonkatsu curry: Sarugak20

I was craving curry for lunch in Jeonpo-dong, so while looking around, I visited Sarugak20, a well-known curry spot in Jeonpo-dong. Sarugak20, a great lunch place in Jeonpo, Busan.

Here is the entrance to Sarugak20, a popular curry restaurant in Jeonpo-dong~ It is close to the Jeonpo-dong Community Service Center.ᐟ.ᐟ

This is the second location of Moru Sikdang, the formerly famous curry restaurant in Jeonpo-dong. I never visited Moru Sikdang myself, but it had such a reputation that many people may know Moru Sikdang even if they do not know Sarugak20. Lots of people were sad when Moru Sikdang disappeared, but now you can head to Sarugak20 instead 🫪💜💜

Can you take home frozen curry?

I also loved that frozen curry is available to take home. There are four kinds: cream curry, spinach curry, miso curry, and beef curry. They are all priced around ₩10,000 haha 🍀💚💚💚💚 When you make curry at home, you have to prep all the vegetables and it takes quite a while to cook, so I think it is so nice that you can simply buy it ready-made 👍👍👍

There are counter tables and regular tables, haha. The brown-toned wood interior really catches your eye 🤎🤎🤎🤎 It makes you feel like you are in Japan.

Sarugak20 is a cozy, warm curry spot in Jeonpo-dong *̥❄︎‧˚₊✧*｡*̥❄︎‧˚₊✧*｡ It seems just right for couples, coworkers, or friends: the prices are not burdensome, and the atmosphere is lovely too, haha.

There are bar seats too.

As soon as we sat down, they brought out spoons and cups; the water was self-service.

Special Curry with a soft egg, sausage, and cheese

Personally, I really enjoyed the Special Curry. It comes with a soft egg, sausage, and cheese, and it was so, so good. It is only ₩12,000 too—isn't that such a reasonable price? If you run short on rice or sauce, you can ask for a refill.

It also comes with kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) as a side dish.

Sarugak Curry for dipping tonkatsu

Next came the Sarugak Curry. It is ₩12,000, and curry plus tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet) for dipping is just unbeatable, right? ☆⋆₊° ☆⋆₊° ☾ ♡⋆‘ ・ ₊ ° * ゜・♡ I ordered it because Sarugak Curry includes tonkatsu and cabbage, so it felt like a good way to get both something tasty and something wholesome. Both curries had their own charm, so it was hard to pick a winner. .ᐟ.ᐟ

Freshly fried sweet potato cheese croquettes

Sweet potato cheese croquettes: 2 pieces for ₩3,500. They lay cabbage underneath, and these croquettes have a sweet potato base with cheese inside. They fry them right in front of you, so you get to eat them piping hot. Personally, I recommend dining in rather than taking the curry away, because you can eat the freshly made, hot curry right away.

A filling curry meal for lunch in Jeonpo-dong

I had such a delicious, satisfying meal at Sarugak20. When I visited at lunch, lots of people were coming and going, hehe. It seems perfect for a lunch meal that is simple yet filling, haha. For lunch in Jeonpo-dong, the prices are very reasonable and not expensive, so it does not feel burdensome at all. I recommend this curry spot for everyone—men and women alike.
