Visit to Sarugak20

I took a little trip to Busan for my best friend's birthday, and after having lots of time to spare and doing a café tour alone, I met up with some close couples for a meal at Sarugak20, a popular curry restaurant in Jeonpo, Busan. Moru Restaurant, long loved in Jeonpo-dong, had opened this second location, Sarugak20. The food was still just as delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely too.

It is an easy walk from Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station. If you spot the monkey sign in front of the Jeonpo-dong Community Service Center, just head straight downstairs! You can dine in, take curry to go, or order delivery through Storefarm. So you can enjoy delicious Sarugak20 even from far away :)

A quiet interior like a Japanese home

The interior had the warm, quiet, cozy feel of a Japanese home, so it seemed perfect for a date or eating alone. Pets are welcome too, which makes it nice for bringing your dog, and there are varied tables from single seats up to tables for six. The owner gave us such a kind welcome, too!

Cute little items were also for sale in one corner by the entrance, so it was nice to browse casually while waiting for our food.

The basic side dish was small kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi). It was not spicy and the pieces were small, so I think children would eat it really well too.

Special curry, great for a classic order

★ Special Curry The special curry, full of deep, rich flavor, was just the right classic choice. It would be truly filling with extra toppings, but we had plans afterward, so we did not add any. It seems lots of people add sausage or croquettes :)

Half-and-half curry for two flavors

★ Half-and-Half Curry Sarugak20's most popular half-and-half curry comes with special curry and cream curry together. I have a small appetite and get tired of food quickly, so I hugely recommend it for anyone with tastes like mine! Since it comes half-and-half, you get to try both.

Half-and-half special and cream curry

Overall, neither curry was overly salty or intensely seasoned. The special curry came with a light sprinkle of cheese, and when mixed in, it had a savory, slightly fuller flavor than the cream curry. The cream curry was thinner and creamier, with a gentle kick, so it did not become too rich or tiring. I had visited Moru Restaurant a long time ago and had forgotten about it, but as a curry lover, I still found it so delicious!

The curry was every bit as delicious as it looked—I kept taking photos because it was so pretty 𓍢ִ໋🌷͙֒⋆₊💌˚⊹♡ When you eat regular curry with rice, it is common to have lots of either sauce or rice left over. Here, the rice-to-curry ratio is great from the start, and they say you can get a refill if you need more! I finished a whole bowl in no time and understood why it is a specialty restaurant. If you love curry like I do, I totally recommend visiting :)
