Large Jeju City tea house with window seats and easy parking: Dobana

In short

Dobana is a large tea house and bakery café on Seosa-ro in Jeju City, about 10–15 minutes by car from Jeju Airport. Dobana has parking for about 10 cars right in front, and the window seats made it easy to linger from 5pm to 7pm over the signature Hojicha Oreum and Grapefruit Omija. Between the parking, the wide gaps between tables and the quiet music, Dobana is an easy café near Jeju Airport for a long sit.

I've been into tea more than coffee lately, and I found such a great tea house near Jeju Airport — Dobana — so I wanted to share my review! It's in a handy spot to stop by before or after a flight, so this should help anyone looking for a café near Jeju Airport.

How far is Dobana from Jeju Airport, and is there parking?

Dobana is about 10–15 minutes by car from Jeju Airport. Being so close to the airport, it's an easy stop when you've got extra time before arrival or departure.

There's also a Pacific Hotel nearby, so it'd be a nice spot to stay near, or to catch up with friends after a wedding at the hotel.

Parking area in front of Dobana Tea House

There was a separate parking area in front of the store that could fit around 10 cars. Honestly, parking is the biggest worry when heading to an aesthetic café, so I liked that Dobana had relatively ample parking for a café near Jeju Airport.

Inside Dobana: atmosphere and window seats

True to its status as one of Jeju City's big cafés, the space was really spacious. Seating ranged from tables for two to four to larger groups, and with a reservation you could even use a separate private room. The interior was done in wood and white tones, giving off a warm yet clean feel overall. It was a neatly styled space, comfortable whether you're taking photos or just sitting. Tea houses can sometimes lean traditional in decor, but this one managed to be modern while still keeping that tidy tea-house feel.

The seats were spaced far apart, so it was easy to chat without worrying about the next table. We sat by the window and it stayed comfortable even after a long time sitting there. The layout worked well for dates or for friends settling in for a long chat. That said, the view out the window is of the parking lot and road, so if you're not into that kind of view, you might want to consider a different seat. (When we visited, the blinds were down covering the road view!)

The music was on the quieter side too, so it didn't interrupt conversation and was also good for focusing on something. There were actually people with laptops out working or studying, so the vibe made it feel fine to stay a long time without feeling self-conscious. Next time I want to come back alone to write in my diary or read a book.

What's on the menu at Dobana?

True to its name as a tea house, Dobana had tea menu items like Matcha Oreum and Hojicha Oreum, along with a wide range of coffee, smoothie, and latte options.

Order counter at Dobana Tea House

We ordered the signature Hojicha Oreum and Grapefruit Omija. For dessert, there were a lot of salt bread varieties, and they were lined up neatly by type — just looking at them was mouthwatering.

As you'd expect from a bakery café in Jeju City, the bakery lineup was solid. We had dinner plans elsewhere so we didn't get to try the bread, but next time I'll definitely make sure to enjoy some!

How the Hojicha Oreum and Grapefruit Omija taste

I tried the Hojicha Oreum first. It comes topped with hojicha (roasted green tea) ice cream, and it was really good. I expected it to be a bit bitter, but it turned out really sweet. The tea and ice cream blended together well instead of feeling separate.

Refreshing Grapefruit Omija drink at Dobana Tea House

The Grapefruit Omija had a stronger grapefruit flavor than omija (schisandra berry), and it was refreshing to drink. I've had drinks at other cafés before that tasted pretty ordinary, but at Dobana you could really tell they put thought into the flavor of their signature menu.

Visiting with kids, buying tea, and the verdict on Dobana

Dobana, a café near Jeju Airport, has baby chairs available, so it's good for family visits too, and I liked that there's a separate area where you can smell and choose loose tea to buy. It was also fun browsing the various teaware on display. Between the menu, the space, and the little details, this was a fully satisfying café with nothing to complain about! We spent from 5 to 7pm there, and the mood was wonderful from daytime into the evening. If you're looking for a café near Jeju Airport, definitely give this one a visit!
