Why When You Bite in Tangjeong is a regular stop: it opens early
When You Bite is a favorite Tangjeong restaurant that both me and the people around me visit often. First off, it opens early, which I love so much. Since our mornings are the only free time we have, we always welcome a place that opens early!!
Parking at When You Bite: the public lot next door
There's a public parking lot right next to When You Bite, plus a whole row of roadside parking out front, so this is another convenient point. No worries about parking whenever you come ^^ We came after getting some skincare done, so it was past 11am — and some people who'd already done an opening run before us were already leaving. So diligent!!!!
How busy are the seats at When You Bite in the morning?
This Tangjeong brunch café favorite always has a lot of customers. There were even times when there were no seats left — but sure enough, after the opening rush passed and one turnover happened, a few tables were just being cleared when we walked in!! Pretty wherever you sit, that's When You Bite. It really feels like it's become a landmark of Tangjeong~~~~ Today was a long-overdue brunch with a dear younger friend of mine, so I scanned the menu before she arrived~! What's on the When You Bite menu: plenty of truffle dishes
Along with the sirloin steak, When You Bite has quite a few dishes that make good use of truffle. French fries, pasta, even toast. I'm guessing the head chef must be a truffle lover ^^
We ordered the 100-hour jambon-beurre sandwich, egg Benedict, and two iced Americanos. Drinks and food are both brought to your table~!
They also have grapefruit draft beer and house wine that go great with steak if you come at night, so I think it'd be nice to try coming in the evening too!

You can also get free caramel sundae ice cream with the Naver receipt review event, but since I'm watching my weight and only eat low-sugar ice cream, I skipped the Naver receipt review this time lol. This place also accepts Asan Pay and Onnuri Gift Certificate QR payment, which makes it even better ^^ (I still have a ton of Onnuri gift certificates left from when I switched phones... lol) While waiting on our order, we took a look around the indoor garden, and it's so green and well-maintained every single time — I can't help but be impressed at how well they take care of it haha.
Looking at the drink showcase, neatly organized by color, makes me really want a glass of wine... but I'm sort of on a break from drinking lately......... I'll have to pick a day and go for it!!
How do the 100-hour jambon-beurre and egg Benedict taste?
We were deep in conversation when the staff brought everything out at once like this, and I loved it so much!! Table-shot lovers are so happy in moments like this *^^*
Regular jambon is already great, but since this is the 100-hour jambon-beurre, it's even softer and the aroma is more subtle, so it's not too salty and just delicious. Such truly soft jambon!!!!
The egg Benedict was also outstanding in both size and looks!! It pairs so well with the green olives served alongside, and honestly the potatoes here are so good too. The long fried French fries are tasty, but potatoes served like this are also so delicious~~~
No sourness at all, just a nutty iced Americano!! We talked so much that the coffee went down easily too, so good!! ^^

Why the ciabatta beats a baguette in this jambon-beurre
Look at how generously the jambon is packed in. I love sandwiches so much that I'll drive all the way to Seoul for a sandwich pop-up, and I love this even more because it's ciabatta, not baguette!! Baguette is tasty but watch out, it'll scrape up the roof of your mouth ;;; Personally I have a soft spot for places that make their sandwiches with ciabatta. In that sense, When You Bite, this Tangjeong brunch café favorite, is one of those places I keep going back to.
On my friend's idea, we also tried it with a chipotle-ish? sriracha-type sauce. What was it called again... something like sriracha mayo?? I think that's what it was lol. Anyway, she even went back for a refill and we ate it up generously and happily lol. It's so soft on its own, and delicious with the sauce too~~ ^^
The egg Benedict my friend raved about as so delicious! Everything tastes so much better eating it with you ^^
Portion size: two plates are plenty for two people
The poached egg was cooked to perfection too. Both the jambon-beurre and the egg Benedict were incredibly filling dishes, so even though we didn't order any pasta this time, we ended up stuffed anyway, wow. Are we just... small eaters?? lol
I'll be ordering the 100-hour jambon-beurre again next time ^^ See you again ♡
