Cover photo of a visit to Yeouido pasta restaurant MOI

Today I'm bringing you an honest review of MOI, a pasta restaurant with great vibes near Yeoinaru/Yeouido Station! The weather was perfect for the Han River, so Yeouido Hangang Park was absolutely packed.

Yeouido Hangang Park feels especially hot for weekend and weekday dates since it's so close to The Hyundai and IFC Mall. So I wanted to introduce a perfect little course: shopping at The Hyundai and IFC Mall during the day, pasta at a nice Western restaurant for dinner, and then a Yeouido Hangang Park cruise or picnic at night! Haha.

With the shepherd's purse craze, The Hyundai felt twice as crowded as usual...! Getting a table in The Hyundai's food court felt nearly impossible, so I realized MOI — sitting in the best spot right between The Hyundai and Yeouido Hangang Park — is perfect for a date course 🤍 I've put together the must-try menu picks and tips for enjoying Yeouido properly, so please read to the end 🍀

Where MOI is and when it opens — 3 minutes from Yeouinaru Station Exit 1

MOI is a pasta and wine restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gongjak Sangga, 113 Yeouinaru-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It's about a 3-minute walk from Yeoinaru Station Exit 1, and about 4 minutes from The Hyundai Seoul — sitting right between Yeouido Hangang Park and The Hyundai! Great accessibility is definitely the biggest advantage ⭐️

I visited on a weekday evening after making a reservation, so here's my detailed review covering hours, parking, the space, restrooms, menu, prices, recommended dishes, and various tips —!

Inside MOI on the 2nd floor of Gongjak Sangga: mood, seating and restrooms

Yeouido pasta spot MOI is located on the 2nd floor of Gongjak Sangga —! The building's exterior didn't hint at such a stylish restaurant inside, but the moment I stepped upstairs, the luxurious atmosphere hit right away.

Atmosphere around MOI's storefront entrance
Interior view of MOI seen from the entrance

Stepping inside, the upscale atmosphere was even more full-on.

MOI's dining floor and table layout

It had a variety of tables ranging from 2-tops to 4–6 person tables,

and the lighting was calm and the music wasn't loud, making it a great spot for conversation. Bag storage boxes at each table made things even more convenient.

The restaurant wasn't huge, but the tables weren't cramped together either, so we could spend time there without feeling stuffy. There was no restroom inside the restaurant itself, so we had to use the shared restroom in the building!

MOI's menu and prices — no one-drink-per-person rule, even at dinner

MOI's menu board with prices
MOI's dinner menu lineup

Here's the menu and prices at Yeouido pasta spot MOI. The lunch and dinner menus felt slightly different —! I also loved that ordering wine or drinks wasn't required even at dinner, haha. A lot of restaurants and wine bars have started requiring one drink per person, but at MOI you could order just food even at dinner.

MOI's Naver menu with photos

I personally prefer to look at photos when ordering, so I checked the Naver menu with images —! Salads start from ₩18,000, pasta and risotto are ₩23,000, the tartare appetizer is ₩18,000, and steak is around ₩48,000 — not expensive at all considering this is Yeouido pasta territory!

The wine list was also pretty extensive, making it a great spot for pairing wine with your meal. That's exactly why I'd recommend it for blind dates or anniversaries too 🤍🍀 And apparently they prepare sorbet for anniversary, engagement gathering, or birthday visits —! If you're planning to visit for one of those occasions, make sure to note it in your reservation and get that sorbet!

We ordered the gim cream pasta (₩23,000) and chicken mushroom risotto (₩23,000), totaling ₩46,000. The plating was so pretty that every photo turned out great, haha.

Such a nice touch that they gave us separate spoons and tongs for each dish to share —!

Chicken mushroom risotto, 23,000 won — light thanks to perilla seeds and pickled chili

MOI's chicken mushroom risotto is ₩23,000 — a combination of neungi mushrooms, button mushrooms, shiitake, plump chicken thigh topping, whole perilla seeds, pickled chili peppers, and yeolmu (young radish greens).

A plate of chicken mushroom risotto

You could really taste the deep, rich aroma of neungi mushrooms at the center, with the intense umami of shiitake and the soft, nutty flavor of button mushrooms coming through nicely —! Risotto being cream-based usually starts to feel heavy by the end, but MOI's chicken mushroom risotto stayed rich and thick without any greasiness, likely thanks to the whole perilla seeds, pickled chili peppers, and yeolmu!

The nutty, grassy pop of the whole perilla seeds and the tangy-salty, sharp kick of the pickled chili peppers paired really well with the mushroom flavors — a must-order for anyone who loves mushrooms ⭐️

Grilled chicken thigh topping on the risotto

On top of that, the plump grilled chicken thigh added juicy bites the more you chewed, haha. Personally, this chicken mushroom risotto was my top pick ✔️ Risotto is also easier to share than pasta, haha, so for gatherings with lots of people like a wedding invite meetup, or slightly awkward situations like blind dates, there's really no better shareable dish than risotto 😛

Chicken mushroom risotto, easy to share

Gamtae seaweed cream pasta, 23,000 won — the semogasari seaweed texture is the kick

The gim cream pasta is also ₩23,000. A unique dish combining gim (dried laver), shrimp, semogasari seaweed, frisée, and pickled onions —!

Gim cream pasta topped with semogasari seaweed and shrimp

The distinctive salty sea aroma of gim melts into the cream sauce — soft and nutty at first, then a subtle seaweed umami lingers at the end! Especially with the semogasari seaweed mixed in, the texture was noticeably different from a typical cream pasta! That crunchy, chewy seaweed texture between the soft noodles and cream sauce was really the kick ⭐️

The light, fresh vegetable flavor of the frisée plus the sweet-tangy pickled onions —! Both the risotto and gim cream pasta are cream-based, so I worried it might feel too heavy, but the frisée, semogasari seaweed, and pickled onions coming together made the gim cream pasta taste really clean and fresh.

Can you tell how thick the sauce is 🥹 The grilled garlic bits scattered throughout added even more depth, pairing perfectly with the intense gim flavor —! My friend's pick was this gim cream pasta.

As you'd expect from a Yeouido pasta spot, MOI's pasta and risotto were seriously... really unique and delicious. Instead of ordinary dishes, every single ingredient making up the pasta/risotto felt special while still coming together perfectly, creating flavors you couldn't get anywhere else. The dishes had just the right amount of saltiness, so we never got tired of them even by the end, haha. Certified Yeouido pasta spot. 👍

Date course: The Hyundai Seoul, dinner at MOI, then Yeouido Hangang Park

The fact that MOI sits exactly halfway between The Hyundai Seoul and Yeouido Hangang Park was such a huge plus —!

  • Spend the day at The Hyundai Seoul enjoying shepherd's purse dishes... shopping at IFC Mall for a relaxing indoor date!
  • Then have an early dinner at MOI, an atmospheric pasta and wine bar
  • Take a Seoul cruise from Yeouido Hangang Park and enjoy the romantic night view
  • Wrap up the day with a picnic and Han River ramyeon at Yeouido Hangang Park 🤍

Isn't this the perfect date course for this exciting fall weather? I feel like it would also be amazing for a blind date or a follow-up date 🤍 I enjoyed this whole course with a close friend and it made for such a happy day 🍀 Everyone, please don't let this season pass you by — go enjoy Seoul's romantic atmosphere ✨

Who is MOI in Yeouido best for?

That wraps up my review of Yeouido pasta spot MOI —! The taste was great, but considering the price range and atmosphere, it's also a place I'd really recommend for wedding invite gatherings or blind dates! Unique, delicious pasta at a not-too-expensive price point means satisfaction should be really high 🤍 If I come back to Yeouido, I'd absolutely revisit on my own dime, haha.

  • Anyone looking for a pasta spot in Yeouido
  • Anyone looking for an atmospheric Yeouido restaurant
  • Anyone looking for a real find before heading to Yeouido Hangang Park
  • Anyone looking for a Yeouido engagement gathering restaurant

I'd absolutely revisit on my own dime, haha.
