Sangdong bar for Ambrosia pizza and cream draft beer: People & Peoples

A good pizza-and-beer spot in Sangdong: "People & Peoples" I stopped by People & Peoples near Sangdong Station for a second round. The night air felt so cool that I ended up enjoying a great pizza-and-beer combo at the outdoor tables 🙂

People & Peoples sits in an alley near Sangdong Station lined with shops. The tables spread out front make the PEOPLE & PEOPLES sign easy to spot!

Near the entrance, the signature pizzas and lasagna are displayed in large signage, so you can tell what kind of place it is before even stepping inside.

Each outdoor table has a tablet installed, so ordering is easy. It has the mood of a stylish pub perfect for pizza and beer — a nice spot for a light evening drink 🙂

What is the indoor seating at People & Peoples like?

Inside, People & Peoples is a little dim and calm, with a subtly atmospheric feel.

Tables ranged from 2–4 person setups to larger tables that fit a group.

A place that works well for a quiet date and also for a group get-together!

People & Peoples menu: more than 10 kinds of pizza

The menu ranged wide, from pizza to lasagna, platters and salads — and the pizza selection alone had so many good-looking options that it was hard to choose haha. From basics like pepperoni and bulgogi to ham cream cheese, garlic chip, and etc. flower pizzas, there were more than 10 kinds of pizza.

There were also set menus paired with Terra or Cass beer,

and the drinks lineup wasn't limited to bottled and draft beer — they had highballs and cocktails too.

What we ordered at People & Peoples and what it cost

• Ambrosia pastry pizza (₩26,000)
• Hanmac cream draft beer 300cc (₩3,500 × 3)

After ordering, they first brought out macaroni as a complimentary snack, and it was so crispy I kept picking at it 😋 Macaroni like this can go stale and lose its crunch if it's been opened a while or sits in humidity, but this was crisp and not the least bit soggy — really good!

The pizza arrived with the beer, and the mound of toppings piled in the center looked so good that I gave it a little round of applause (?) when it landed on the table 👏🏻

The staff explained that the sauce served with the pizza is the same one used with the lasagna — finely chopped vegetables mixed with oil, tangy and fresh, which paired really well with the pizza. They said People & Peoples makes its ragù and other sauces in-house by hand.

How does the Ambrosia pastry pizza taste?

The Ambrosia pastry pizza is a pastry-dough pizza loaded with sweet potato mousse, shrimp, pepperoni, and crispy potato flakes piled in the center — basically a bomb of sweet, salty and spicy ingredients. At first I couldn't tell what was in the middle and thought it was sweet potato when I bit into it alone — turned out to be the potato flakes! Thin and crispy like a cracker, well-seasoned, and a great match for everything else.

With so many different toppings, they still balanced together so well that even when I was full, I kept going in for one more bite haha. The shrimp seemed to be whole and separately seasoned — tasted almost like honey butter sauce?

The crust was also pastry dough, thin with visible layers, giving it a nice texture.

Is People & Peoples worth a second round in Sangdong?

I enjoyed an unusual pizza for a second round at People & Peoples near Sangdong Station, and the Ambrosia pastry pizza had a charm quite different from the regular pizzas I usually eat. In weather this good for enjoying the outdoor tables, I'd love to go back and try other menu items. If you're in Sangdong and want something different for pizza and beer, stop by!
