Sangdong bar in Bucheon with non-alcoholic beer: People & Peoples
In short
People & Peoples is a Korean gastropub in Sangdong, Bucheon, tucked into the Tteooreugil alley behind the Save Zone building near Sangdong Station. Driving that day meant non-alcoholic beer instead of draft, paired with spicy bulgogi pastry pizza and golbaengi somyeon (whelk with thin noodles), and the crisp, chewy pastry dough under the spicy bulgogi topping was best-ever pizza territory. Even mid-diet, three slices and half the golbaengi somyeon were gone — a Sangdong bar worth a 200% certain return visit.

The best pizza I've ever eaten in my life, hands down — People & Peoples. If you're reading this and you like pizza, please just trust me and go once!
Where People & Peoples is and where to park
People & Peoples is a bar in Sangdong, located on the 1st floor of the Guckcheon Building at 17-28 Giljulo 121beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Parking is ₩1,000 per hour, and you can ask the owner for a parking voucher.

People & Peoples sits behind the Save Zone building near Sangdong Station, about midway down the main Tteooreugil alley. It's close to the station too, so getting there by public transit is easy!

The vibe out front is especially great, so on a nice day sitting at the outdoor tables would be perfect. This Sangdong bar on a spring or fall evening with pizza and a beer outside would just be everything, haha. I visited in summer though, so I obediently went inside. I really, really hate being hot, so~

Inside People & Peoples: nearly full on a weekday evening
I figured it'd be quiet on a weekday, but nope... it was already nearly full when I walked in. Managed to grab one of the few remaining seats! I was surprised so many people show up even on a weekday — clearly a local favorite already.

Ordering spicy bulgogi pastry pizza and golbaengi somyeon
I originally planned to order both the pizza and the lasagna since they're both famous here, but figured eating both might be too rich, so I changed it up! Ordered the spicy bulgogi pastry pizza and golbaengi somyeon instead. Since I drove, I couldn't drink beer, so I added a non-alcoholic beer as a consolation, haha. Can't give up the pizza-and-beer vibe entirely!

This Sangdong bar had a genuinely wide range of menu items. Looks like a great spot for a group to visit and share several dishes together. I spent a long time agonizing over the menu because there was so much I wanted to try, haha. After ordering, a simple set of basic side dishes came out. Nothing flashy, but this kind of basic side dish is always tasty no matter when you eat it, haha. Picked at them one by one while waiting for the main dishes.

What does People & Peoples' pastry pizza taste like?
After a short wait, the order arrived... and wow, the visuals were insane!! I actually gasped the moment the pastry pizza showed up, haha. It looks great in photos, but in person it's even more amazing. A thick, generous pizza piled high with toppings and cheese — a visual that makes you want to dig in immediately!

One bite in and I immediately understood why the pastry pizza is famous. The pastry is crispy while the dough itself is chewy! It's a texture completely different from typical pizza dough, and it was so appealing. On top of that, the cheese was piled on generously for a rich, savory flavor! The slight spiciness of the bulgogi cut through the richness perfectly — the combination was flawless. Crispy, chewy, savory, spicy... it's just got everything, haha. Easily one of the best pizzas I've ever had.

Golbaengi somyeon with jinmichae (seasoned dried squid)
The golbaengi somyeon (whelk and noodle salad) I ordered to cut the richness was also a huge win! The portion was generous right off the bat, and the tangy-spicy sauce really woke up my appetite. What was especially unique was that it came with jinmichae (shredded seasoned dried squid) mixed in! The chewy texture of the jinmichae, the springy whelk, and the crisp vegetables and noodles together made for such great texture. One bite of pizza, one bite of golbaengi somyeon — no room for richness to build up, haha.

Diet failed, no regrets at People & Peoples
I've been dieting lately, playing the small-eater role and cutting back portions. But that day, I failed, haha haha. I ended up eating a whopping three slices of pizza and half the golbaengi somyeon by myself... Even full, I couldn't put the pizza down. 'Maybe just one more slice?' — and then I just kept eating, ugh. Still, no regrets. Good food must be eaten... This is now my number one spot for good bar food in Sangdong!

Really, the last thing I want to say is just one thing. You, reading this... please trust me and try the pastry pizza just once, ugh. It was so good I kept thinking 'why isn't this place more famous?' the whole time I was eating. Crispy yet chewy pastry dough with rich cheese and toppings — absolutely perfect, People & Peoples! Next time I'm definitely trying the lasagna too. Found a real life-changing Sangdong bar after a long time! 200% planning to come back, haha.
