Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch is a Chinese-style bar on the basement floor of Seolleung-ro 86-gil, near Seolleung Station. On Sunday, September 13, I watched the movie Odyssey in Jamsil and headed out for dinner afterward. On the way home toward Geumjeong Station, I passed through Seolleung, and the area around Seolleung and Daechi-dong brought back memories — I used to work nearby. It felt nostalgic. I suddenly remembered Mirim Yangjang, a place I'd always eyed on my old commute, and headed straight there without hesitation.

I remembered being blown away by the luxurious taste of the meat the last time I ate at Mirim Yangjang. As I arrived at the entrance, the red neon sign immediately caught my eye.

Following the signs down to the basement at Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch reveals a distinctive space all its own. The interior stood out with its sleek red decor, the crisp white tables contrasting elegantly with the black chairs.

Toward the back, there were also somewhat private table areas. A family celebrating a birthday with a cake happened to be there, and it struck me as a great spot for special occasions or a work dinner near Seolleung Station.

Ordering by QR code and Toss at Mirim Yangjang

At Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch, you scan the QR code set on each table and use Toss to select your menu and pay, all in one go. We sat down and placed our order right away — quick and convenient, very in line with current trends. That evening we chose the restaurant's signature half Peking duck, the savory duck fried rice, and a noodle dish (stir-fried noodles) whose broth and texture we were curious about.

Right after ordering, the basic side dishes were set down. Savory, salty stir-fried peanuts and a tangy, refreshing bean sprout salad arrived — perfect for whetting the appetite before the meal.

Next, the fresh julienned cucumber and scallion that come with the Peking duck order were neatly set out, along with a rich, dark special sauce with a chunjang (black bean paste) feel.

While waiting for the food, I looked around and saw carefully prepared ducks hanging in a row on one side of the restaurant. Scenes from the movie Odyssey briefly flashed through my mind.

Half Peking duck: how to wrap it in wheat pancakes

The half Peking duck at Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch comes with light, moist meat laid underneath, topped elegantly with skin that looks crispy just from the sight of it.

I carefully unfolded the warm steamed pancakes one by one to try them.

I placed the light meat and crispy skin onto the pancake, added crunchy scallion and cucumber, and a touch of the special sauce, then wrapped it up. The rich juices of the meat blended with the vegetables for an outstanding taste.

Duck fried rice and egg noodle stir-fry (half)

The duck fried rice had every grain stir-fried to a nice chewy texture, and it went really well eaten alongside the duck meat.

The noodle dish that followed exceeded expectations too! With crunchy bok choy, bean sprouts, and sweet onion mixed in, the texture alongside the noodles was excellent. The whole combination of dishes was so good that my companion raved about being full and satisfied, and I was thoroughly pleased with the meal myself.

Mirim Yangjang Seolleung Branch lets you enjoy deep, rich Chinese meat dishes and a varied menu in an upscale atmosphere! Thanks to the friendly service and excellent food, I already want to go back soon. In fact, this visit was so satisfying that I ended up going to another branch of Mirim Yangjang afterward — that's how completely won over I was. If you're looking for a standout Peking duck spot around Gangnam or Daechi-dong, or a Seolleung bar with great atmosphere, I highly recommend giving this place a try!
