Beomgye bar with fruit makgeolli and potato pancake: Bueongi Sanjang

Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch — I went looking for a bar near Beomgye and ended up here! This is the story of properly enjoying gopdoritang (spicy tripe stew) and makgeolli at a bar full of mountain-lodge vibes :)

Hi~! It's Jenny haha. The weather's gotten chilly lately, so when I got together with friends I really wanted a drink! So I went looking and ended up at Bueongi Sanjang in Beomgye!

Bueongi Sanjang is a bar whose signature dish is dakbokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken), and it's on the 2nd floor, so the location was great too haha.

The mountain-lodge feel plus the gopdoritang were so good that I'm leaving a review!

Inside the lodge-style room and the group tables

Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch uses the entire 2nd floor as its bar space, so the seating is really wide. It's a great layout for company dinners or group gatherings.

First of all, the interior is decorated like an actual mountain lodge, so the atmosphere was unusual and nice!

Since the whole 2nd floor is the bar, the seating is really, really spacious — a lot of people clearly come here for company dinners, and it would be great for group tables too haha.

There's plenty of space between tables too, so it was comfortable to enjoy.

Menu and prices at Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch

The mains at Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch are gopdoritang (with tripe) at ₩31,000, mukdoritang at ₩29,000, and dakdoritang at ₩26,000. Among the pancakes, there's cheese potato pancake at ₩19,000 and seafood pancake at ₩18,000, plus a wide range of makgeolli and traditional liquor.

We ordered the gopdoritang, cheese potato pancake, and three kinds of makgeolli!

How does the gopdoritang with beef tripe taste?

The gopdoritang at Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch is dakbokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken) with beef tripe added, so the broth is spicy with tremendous depth of flavor. It comes with a finishing fried rice too.

I had the gopdoritang, and honestly,, it was so good! The broth was spicy with incredible savoriness.

With the tripe added, it had a richer, deeper flavor than a regular dakbokkeumtang haha.

Mixing in the finishing fried rice and scraping it all up was just perfect (I ordered the fried rice the moment I tasted the broth).

Is the 19,000 won cheese potato pancake worth it?

The cheese potato pancake (₩19,000) is shredded potato folded in half around melted cheese. It was thick and big enough to fill you up on its own.

And the cheese potato pancake! It's shredded potato with cheese inside folded in half, and it was so thick and huge that this alone filled me up lol.

The outside was crispy and the cheese inside stretched out beautifully — perfect as a drinking snack too.

Which makgeolli can you order here?

The makgeolli we drank at Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch were mango, strawberry, plain, and Jipyeong — four kinds total. The fruit makgeolli is a mix of frozen fruit and makgeolli, so it was sweet.

This place really has a huge liquor selection, and the makgeolli variety especially makes it fun to pick and choose!

I had mango makgeolli, strawberry makgeolli, plain makgeolli, and Jipyeong makgeolli, and the fruit makgeolli, being frozen fruit mixed with makgeolli, was sweet and delicious haha.

Next time I want to try the Goheung yuja (citron) makgeolli! I haven't seen many bars carry that one, but they have it in Beomgye??

Events and extras at Bueongi Sanjang

Bueongi Sanjang Beomgye Branch was running a receipt review event, so we got toast or sikhye (sweet rice drink). They also had mouthwash and a self-charging station ready for when you leave.

They're also running a receipt review event! Like me, you can get toast or sikhye!! Make sure to grab the perks!!

This came out on a big~ plate too, so I was so full,, and satisfied 👍

And when leaving lol, the owner here is really thoughtful too — they even have mouthwash and a self-charging station ready!

Next time I want to try the Goheung yuja makgeolli along with some other snacks haha.
